  3. Their logo isn’t exactly inspiring or professional! A stretched word art job… If they can’t get the basics right…

The way the logo appears here – stretched – is PN’s fault. It’s fine on FB.

  4. Well, it surely can’t be any worse than some of the calamities that have called themselves London Pride events in the past.

Hackney marshes be about the worst, I can remember.

Can someone please explain how it is Boris Johnson ‘giving out’ the ‘right’ to hold Pride please…?

Hopefully this year things will be properly accounted for but let’s not forget Johnson’s own role in the tragic mishmash of last year’s World Pride…

it is funny the chair is close to downing street don’t you find this funny. I find this a bit suspicious how the decision has been taken. I don’t think it has been taken fairly

I thought one of the main ideas was to ensure it was NOT held in Westminster . . . what happened to that idea? . . . East London has some fabulous spaces and LGBT friendly venues . . .

Having London’s Pride several miles from the centre of London would say something, and that’s why. But I echo concerns that Pride must not surrender to commercial interests, nor for that matter to the already monster ego of Boris Johnson (who, sadly, holds some purse strings). Ideally there would be no need to seek public funding or permissions, but that’s not how things work.

  8. Should not the post of Chair have been offered out/adveristied as an employment opperunity/contract/volunteer, so that all interested persons wanting to apply with similiar abilities have an equal oppertunity to submit for the position, did this happen? Or how did the board decided Miss Lisa Powers was the correct person to appoint? Is she to be paid or is the position voluntary?

If you had ever met Lisa you would know why she is a first-class choice!

      Post a reply →
      1. The issue here is wether or not the board had an open oppertunity and process for the position of chair, like an job oppertunity, so that all interested parties may apply.

To just offer on a 1 person canditate, is it unfair/unjust and as LGBT persons are reminded of the continued inequilities faced, is this another one?

As to the the fee of Lisa Power MBE, as she is a paid Director of THT, it would be interest and oversight of how the grant funding is to be used. Being open and transparent.

We all have our personnel views on this matter.

          1. Was the post of Chair for the CAB put out as an employment/volunteer oppertunity so that all interested parties could apply? re: Equall Oppertunities and all?

  9. Dedicated women’s area? Is this an area just for dedicated women? Or is it a dedicated area for all women who do not wish to be part of the big unifying celebration of Gay Pride? Pathetic.
