This allegedly educated woman is definitely not. Does she really realise how offensive her comments are – I am pleased she has been relieved of her duties. Lets hope her comments come back to haunt her at every point of her life – as this type of rubbish she is spouting is harmful to everyone in contact with her.

    2. of course she realizes how offensive she is. That is her cachet for attracting extremist right wing pigs to support her. Thankfully the majority of people are disgusted by her views. She has no political future, and she has made herself an embarrasment to her children for ever more. How awful for them to be related to her.

And the same can be said of her former cohorts at the UKIP. And those who support them.

Having been to her blog and having attempted to read it I would say she would have to learn English before she could do that, lax as the Daily Mail is…. For someone with a supposed English degree from Somerville, her grasp of the English language is woieful. How on earth did she gain such a “doctorate” if in fact she actually has one. If so Somerville really needs to review how it awards such doctorates and the standards required….

The truth and your headlines don’t really ever see eye to eye do they? You obviously have an agenda, and will prosecute it through thick and thin.

    This is what I said,
“I can confirm that Dr Gasper is no longer the chairman of UKIP Oxford constituency association.”

That is an end of it. “Has been removed” is something entirely different. Words matter, and so do meanings.

Well if you are saying she wasn’t removed you are actually making it worse. The fact that she may have been removed was showing you in a good light. So well done on ruining even that good PR.

“Nigel Farage, party leader, said: “I have never even heard of these people.”

Maybe he should read Pink News for information on his own members views?

If she wasn’t removed, she should have been. What happened then? Did she get reprimanded for giving away UKIP’s secret agenda (since you like that word). And yes, we all have an agenda here, which is to work towards a time when homophobia becomes a thing of the past, when ALL human beings are treated with the same respect and decency and valued for who they really are not their gender, race or sexuality. And you are right. Words DO matter and when public figures utter words designed to instil hate into the minds of the ignorant by using emotive and subjective language and quoting statistics as though they are fact, then the people who utter those words should be ‘removed from office’

Poor Gawain Towler. You sound as if you think you are being persecuted. But don’t worry, you’re in good company. The 1000 plus priests who signed a letter claiming gay marriage would lead to their persecution are singing from the same hymn-sheet as you. You say the writers on Pink News “obviously have an agenda”. Well, surprise surprise! A gay newspaper having a gay agenda – like trying to expose an organisation that is masquerading as a purveyor of the truth, like a religion or a political party – that’ss enough to make even Dr Gasper gasp again!

Until quite recently UKIP has been seen merely as a fringe party – no-one really much cared what they thought.

However, now they are seen as perhaps something more than ‘fringe’ so a much more intense light is being shone upon them and their policies – resulting in the ‘purging’ of those who do not fit with the image they now wish to portray.

Like others here I am glad to see that Dr Gasper is no longer Chairman of UKIP Oxford although am curious to know HOW this happened – by some kind of vote or by mere ‘edict’ from Farage? Decidedly it remains a deeply suspect organisation that merits continuing critical scrutiny.

  14. I find it worrying that those who vote for the Tories have a rough idea that they’re very reserved on social matters but those who are voting for Ukip really have no idea how strange and bigoted they are.

They see Nigel Farage, they read about all the horrors of the EU in the Daily Mail, and they think nothing of entrusting them with a vote.

It’s a terrible decision for a protest vote. Go for Greens or Nationalists instead if you have the opportunity. Even LibDem for goodness sake.

    3. her doctorate was a pretty shoddy effort. A redacted version was published and sold a few copies. Although she has made several claims at having published other books, or being in the process of being published these claims are completely spurious. At most she has written a couple of substandard embarrasing articles for an online blog about Oxford, and one derivative paper in an obscure scholarly journal. Her creds are largely bogus. Shame on the summer school brochure which repeated her bogus claims to published fame. … but she lost that summer job so I guess she didn’t fool anyone for very long.

Ugly women are sometimes disparaging toward Gay people who are as a rule always quite cute or indeed beautiful… Comments on her looks are hardly earth shattering when one considers the things she has to say about a large part of British society and she should count herself luck to live in a society where she is respected as a woman, given the state of things in the country of her birth……..

(although i cant think of any other animal offhand that forms same sex PARTNERSHIPS..not meaning of course that human behaviour necessarily has to follow what the rest of creation does).. and just get on with your lives and leave the rest of us to quietly get on with being hetero… and ok.. if someones opinion offends you, live with it. people crying their eyes out about people’s opinions offending them is what is killing off freedom of speech in this country.
