Titanic actor, Victor Garber, has come out as gay, saying that it was common knowledge that he was living with his long-term partner.

When questioned about an entry on his Wikipedia page which said that he lived in New York with his partner of thirteen years, Rainer Andreesen, the Titanic actor confirmed that it was true, reports GregInHollywood.

The 63-year-old actor said: “I don’t really talk about it, but everybody knows. He’s going to be out here with me for the [Screen Actors Guild] Awards.”

The actor who played San Francisco mayor George Moscone in the film Milk, was nominated for a Tony four times for roles on Broadway.

Mr Garber’s coming out comes just days after actor Jodie Foster used her acceptance speech for the Cecil B DeMille lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globes to address her sexuality for one of the first times in public.

Last week, US actor Matt Dallas who formerly starred in ABC’s ‘Kyle XY’ has come out as gay thanks to a remarkably casual posting on Twitter.

Earlier in January, singer/songwriter Ke$ha spoke out about bullying and her bisexuality in Seventeen magazine’s February issue.
