. . . yet they keep the columnist who wrote the article . . .
I should think that Burchill, like most commentators, is a freelance. So we have no idea whether The Observer will commission her again.
Course they will. She producing AMAZING click bait.
She’s battling the bulge and writing for the Daily Mail. (2nd Jan 2013)
Saw Nadine Dorries and Terry Christian jump to the defence of Julie Burchill on Channel 5′s The Wright Stuff this morning.
Since they apparently claim that they’re mystified as to why anyone should take offence at the words Julie Burchill used to describe transsexuals then I’m also assuming that they think it’s equally acceptable to refer to black people with the n word, Jews with the k word, Arabs with the R word, gay people with the p word and mentally handicapped people with the other r word. And if not; why not?
I’ll also similarly reserve the right to assume that the Channel 5 Wright Stuff’s highly unprofessional and pitifully immature production team would have likewise let out the same audible, supposedly spontanious giggle on mention of any of the above listed groups as readily as they did as soon as ‘transgender’ was mentioned on this morning’s ‘show’. And if not; why not?
Now Nadine, you can get back to playing the ‘sexist’ card when you go off on your next free hols.
I’ve seen less offensive homophobic comments on PinkNews being taken off the website a lot quicker than that vile hate filled article in the Observer. Better late than never I guess.
“The piece was an attempt to explore contentious issues within what had become a highly-charged debate”
Somehow this does not strike me as accurate. Stripped of the homophobic rhetoric the article is merely about JB’s relationship with Suzzane Moore.
Homophobic ? Really ? I suggest you re read the article .
Sorry to insult the T community, but does anyone else think she looks like one herself? :)
