  1. It is absurd that religious figures were going to be there in any role other than spectator anyway.

This is good, but really, vetting in advance is so much the wiser choice than backing down later.

Makes you wonder why in a country that’s supposed to have no state religion why a religious minister is required to give a benediction’. A christian doesn’t speak for non-christians after all. Thank goodness we don’t have that nonsense in the UK when a new Prime Minister assumes office.

This is the second time this has happened. President Obama used another very anti-gay minister, Rev. Scott Warren. You’d think he would have learned from the past mistake. Obviously vertting isn’t a strong point in the American administration.

You wait, all of the right wing religious nutters will be coming out in droves over this one screaming abuse of religious freedom.

Mmmm, I’d still smash hit back doors in.

If he thinks that gay people are such a problem what the hell is he doin being a pastor. He is suposed to teach bout Love and Forgivness, Not Hate and Murder. I sure they can find someone else to do this for the President.

  5. “to the point where the homosexual lifestyle becomes accepted as a norm in our society and is given full standing as any other lifestyle, as it relates to family.”

    He really gets it!

    Then again, maybe he doesn’t.

  6. It says he pulled out. Sounds like he was quite rightly pushed. Why would being reminded of something you said cause a voluntary withdrawal? Anyway, goodbye wanker.

  7. Er, no, he was dis-invited. As they said, they had no idea about his previous statements on inclusion.

  8. Oh, they must have something on him.

  9. What in the fu@@ is Obama thinking? Last time he had that other homophobic bigot from California, Rick Warren(???, I think his name is). Now he’s picking another one? Who in the hell is advising him? He ought to have Rev. Gene Robinson, the first Episcopal gay bishop from /new Hampshire or Rev. Gary Hall, the Episcopal pastor of the Washington National Cathedral that just agreed to start having Gay Marriages. I seriously do not trust Obama when it comes to standing up for the LGBT community when he pulls crap like that. There are so many deserving progressive people that he could have picked and yet he chooses some redneck homophobe.

  10. It’s obvious from the comments here that no one actually knows who Louie Giglio is or what he is like. Maybe you should do some reasearch, maybe even watch one of his videos on Youtube? And then you will be far more qualified to make a comment.
