Homophobic US pastor John Hagee has used his radio show to say anything other than a man marrying a woman is “two disturbed people playing house.”

The 72-year-old made the comments on The Hagee Hotline while taking calls from listeners on Tuesday.

Hagee is the senior pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, a non-denominational mega-church with more than 19,000 active members.

He is also is the president and CEO of John Hagee Ministries, which telecasts his national ministry on 160 US TV stations and 50 radio stations.

The Texan loudmouth has frequently made anti-gay statements; he blamed Hurricane Katrina on the presence of gay people in New Orleans in 2007.

Republican presidential nominee John McCain was forced to cut ties with Hagee during the 2008 US election.

Last year, Hagee warned that the repeal of the Defence of Marriage Act would lead to polygamy.
