    Do politicians still not get it? In trying to appease religious hardliners you’re completely wasting your time!! They are against us as people, they don’t want you to legislate any protections or recognitions for us into law. So stop offering them olive branches, because they will still rant against you!!

  2. I don’t think anything will appease the Catholics when it comes to any LGBT rights so I’m guessing that they are dropping this amendment to rush thru the main change , marriage with adoption for gay couples.

    Just hope that the UK’s move to now introduce “religious” marriages along with “civil” marriages doesn’t cause any delay as well…

    Don’t know what is tactically the best, get all the rights in one go or do it in increments? I’m going to trust the Socialists on this one I think. They’re so far behind the UK when it comes to LGBT rights and attitudes to gays that marriage and adoption would be a huge change there.
