Ok then, I’ll ask it – Is this guy a Hero, a Hetro hater or another American nutter? – cause there have been times when we all wish these Gay Hating organisations got a taste of their own….
I wouldn’t say he’s any of those things. I’d say he’s just a man who has got fed up with all the gay hate out there and decided to take this path to show it. His anger is understandable, and I can sympathise, but at the end of the day violence isn’t going to help anyone in the LGBT community, and it’s only going to give more fuel to the bigots.
Agree with all of that. Violence is used every day against people who are gay, both verbal and physical, and hate is whipped up by these homophobic hate groups – it was inevitable. You can push people only so far, and the stronger you push the more likely it is that at some point some individual will be unable to contain that rational reasoning side.
He’s not a “Hero” or “just a man who..”. He’s a nutter. Simple. If you see a case for him shooting this guy then you must see a case for other nutters like Anders Behring Breivik (Norway shootings), David Copeland (Soho bomber), Volkert van der Graaf (assassinated Pim Fortuyn) or even Osama Bin Laden, all of whom felt equally justified.
The man clearly has serious psychological problems. I’m not endorsing what he did and my heart goes out to the security guard who would appear to have saved a lot of lives that day, but I find it hard to see what good jail will do him.
I do not think these anti-gay hate groups pushing their pseudo “Christian” agenda realize the psychological damage and anger that they cause to LGBT people. Rather than sitting silently and internalizing their shame, I suspect more and more LGBT people will be pushed to a breaking point and acting out their rage and you’ll see more and more violence,
It was a set up to make LGBT people look bad.
