  1. It was clearly the Lord’s turn to be ‘top’

    1. billy wingartenson 5 Jan 2013, 11:48pm

Sounds like he was fantasizing being raped by a kid. Thats just about the same as the church person who said kids asked 2 B raped
Crazier and crazier they go. like a cornered tiger

      http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/roman-catholic-priest-blames-children-for-their-rapes/news/2012/08/31/47826

  2. Well that’s made my evening.

    1. Mine too. Ab fab.

Just as well he wasn’t handcuffed to a choirboy.

      1. Maybe it was a choirboy that handcuffed him and made his escape! Not to mention the great compassion from his cardinal to give the priest a leave of absence after learning of the priest predicament and emotionally traumatic experience, after which he might return to a different another parish/diocese because the “predicament”

  3. Robert in S. Kensington 4 Jan 2013, 7:32pm

That will be 10 Our Fathers and 10 Hail Marys. He’ll be back for more and all will be forgiven. Next…

    1. billywingartenson 5 Jan 2013, 11:51pm

      hidden, as well as forgiven

  4. barriejohn 4 Jan 2013, 7:40pm

That’s odd. I thought that when you became a Christian your chains fell off. Are they lying about that as well?

  5. No doubt he was tempted by Satan (XTube).

  6. Marcwebbo3 4 Jan 2013, 7:45pm

Oh just dont you love it when these religious hypocrites and anti-gay morons just so fall right on their face….its happening more and more and I just love to watch it

    1. Staircase2 4 Jan 2013, 9:10pm

      Where is the hypocrisy…?

      1. Isn’t it obvious? Maybe it’s you who needs to think!

  7. I’m not entirely sure what this story has to do with LGBT people, apart from the welcome schadenfreude at seeing our natural enemies – catholic priests – brought down a peg or two.

Actually, never mind. It’s worth publishing for that alone.

    1. de Villiers 4 Jan 2013, 8:48pm

It attacks religion – and that is enough for it to appear on this site.

      1. Staircase2 4 Jan 2013, 9:12pm

That’s a good reason why it shouldn’t have been published in the first place.

No campaigning group should have any reason to attack anyone unless it is because of hypocrisy or bigotry on the part of the ACTUAL person/people they’re aiming at.

        1. I think it is a clear case of hypocrisy and therefore justifiable as a news piece. The RC church do not approve of such “perversions”. If this priest believes that such activities are good practice he should have spoken out about it. If not he’s a hypocrite.

          Catholic teaching on masturbation.

          “masturbation is always morally wrong.”

“It has been the constant and clear teaching of the Church from principles found in Holy Scripture that masturbation is a serious sin”

“solitary sex in itself contradicts the meaning of human sexuality”

          1. Guglielmo Marinaro 5 Jan 2013, 2:56pm

‘The RC church do not approve of such “perversions”.’

Oh no? The what do you call this?

            http://www.cilice.co.uk/

          2. Yeah, I remember those from the Da Vinci Code. Hilarious. So twisted!

          3. Staircase2 6 Jan 2013, 2:37am

That the Catholic Church should have a stand in something does not mean that this particular priest is either a hypocrite or a bigot…

            Come on, THINK, people!

      2. Robert in S. Kensington 4 Jan 2013, 9:48pm

And religion doesn’t attack gay people? What about that hateful Christmas message delivered by Archbishop Nichols? What about the spurious rhetoric describing gay marriages as grotesque by Cardinal O’Brien? What about the allusion to polygamy, incest and bestiality as a result of equal marriage fomented by the church? Mendacious statements that they’ve not even been able to support with one shred of evidence, bearing false witness against gay people. That’s not an attack? They deserve it back in kind.

        1. de Villiers 5 Jan 2013, 9:32am

You want to be as bad as them and not better?

          1. Robert in S. Kensington 5 Jan 2013, 4:57pm

You should at least admit that the RC church attacks us, be honest.

  8. I’m just wondering how this private information got out into the public domain.

Woe betide any Catholic priest these days who gives the appearance of having done anything remotely resembling the sexually unorthodox.

After the attacks on LGBT people and our right to marry by the Vatican and the bishops, and the classification of our sex lives as disordered and immoral, people are going to be watching the CC’s unreconstructed mediaeval organisation like a hawk.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction: though as far as the reaction to the Catholic Church’s homophobia and other sexual hypocrisy is concerned, the reaction is going to far exceed its expectations.

They are unleashing a tsunami of opposition: and the fact this private incident has been publicised is a mere drop in that ocean.

    1. “I’m just wondering how this private information got out into the public domain.”

Typically police reports are not private. Back in the days of local newspapers there was usually a “police blotter” column with information taken from police reports.

    2. PantoHorse 6 Jan 2013, 2:53pm

“Woe betide any Catholic priest these days who gives the appearance of having done anything remotely resembling the sexually unorthodox. ”

Woe should betide any Catholic priest caught doing anything resembling sex whatsoever – it’s supposed to be all about the celibacy in their club!

  9. This isn’t even gay news in the slightest
This is the sort of stuff you get in the Daily Mail…a random event with very little about the affair even news worthy

    1. But it’s delicious and much appreciated.

    2. midnighter 5 Jan 2013, 11:42pm

According to other sites he has testified against equal marriage to a senate committee. It is thus relevant because he is guilty of suspect and implicitly sexual practices, while ostensibly living by a moral code that precludes such things and using that as a basis to preach his homophobia.

  10. Almost choked on my chicken noodles reading this!

“Oh yeah, and what were YOU up to???”

  11. Happens to the best of us.

  12. Staircase2 4 Jan 2013, 9:09pm

How is this a story exactly…?

There doesn’t appear to be any hypocrisy involved, why is Pink News reporting this?

    1. Juvenile Sniggers Esq. 5 Jan 2013, 12:24am

Might I direct you to a thesaurus? Instead of ‘hypocrisy’, thesaurus.com suggests you might use bad faith, bigotry, cant, casuistry, deceit, deception, dishonesty, display, dissembling, dissimulation, double-dealing, duplicity, false profession, falsity, fraud, glibness, imposture, insincerity, irreverence, lie, lip service, mockery, pharisaicalness, pharisaism, phoniness, pietism, quackery, sanctimoniousness, sanctimony, speciousness or unctuousness.

I mention this merely because all your posts, produced during a fevered session of prolonged banging at the keyboard from which you’re no doubt gratefully resting, use the word ad nauseum.

For fun, create a checklist and do a google search for ‘Catholic’ and one of the above synonyms. Note the number of search results.

    3. I refer the Honourable Gentleman to the post from midnighter above ^

  13. Karma, she be a bitch.

  14. Those damn altar boys! Always up to no good! LMFAO- what an idiot!

    1. Haha! I was thinking along similar lines.
Maybe it was an abused choir boy seeking vengence. :)

  15. barriejohn 4 Jan 2013, 10:57pm

He’s not the first to have ended in a similar situation. This is from 2008:

    http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/weird/nude-priest-falls-on-potato/story-e6frev20-1111117911401

As others have said: sweet schadenfreude!

  16. Not sure how this is relevant to this site specifically. But it gave me a good chuckle reading it.
Maybe it’s an abused preteen boy betting his own back on a molester?
    Of course pure speculation.
The Catholic church would never molest young boys.

  17. I must say thank you to Pink News for this story which is of ENORMOUS relevance for your largely UK readership.

  18. Father, you’ve been a bad bad man! I’m gonna have to punish you… I’ll have to cuff, gag and spank you!

  19. Self inflicted gag and handcuff? Holly trinity at work perhaps?

  20. Paul Clevett 5 Jan 2013, 12:03pm

There is no way he was on his own when he was “cuffed”.

  21. Reminds me of the priest who died of a heart attack in a gay sauna in Dublin some years ago. Several other priests were already on hand to administer Extreme Unction!

  22. He should have just found a pin or something to pick the lock, stupid old sod.

  23. GingerlyColors 5 Jan 2013, 4:36pm

To put in the words of one famous Springfield resident: ‘DOH!’

  24. Suddenly Last Bummer 5 Jan 2013, 5:25pm

Here’s a pic of him. He has a face that leather hoods were made for.

    1. Oh No! It’s Fr Dougal

    2. PeterinSydney 5 Jan 2013, 9:27pm

Actually thanks for the pic, he is a bit cute. Can I have a turn at handcuffing him too and ………!!!!!

  25. PeterinSydney 5 Jan 2013, 9:24pm

What a Hoot! Old Card George and the gang of 7 are railing against gay people while one of his own clergy is playing with handcuffs in his presbytery. Perhaps the nasty old Cardinal should give that game a try so as to entertain himself , instead of gay bashing.

  26. Joseph oz 6 Jan 2013, 4:34am

Perhaps he might have been doing some magic tricks…? It’s getting to the point, where a man can get caught in a pair of hand cuffs…
without everyone drawing ridiculous conclusions! He was probably practising what he preaches, he was binding himself to the salvation
of the cross! One the other hand he probably put on the hand cuffs, so he wouldn’t be tempted to handle the choir boys…?

  27. Don’t you just love the Roman Catholic Church’s LEAVE OF ABSENCE system! Yes, we all know how many are in that status, protected behind the Vatican walls, lurking in the shadows!

  28. Another hyprocrite strickes again!

  29. God works in mysterious ways ….
