Only 1? We have more openly gay MPs in Parliament than any country.

Well, that’s just the Senate. The U.S. has more out public officials overall than Britain, even accounting for the difference in population. They’re just more likely to be found in state and local politics, probably because breaking into national politics is so difficult and expensive here.

We have 22 openly gay MPs in Parliament, the equivalent of the senate. How many in the Congress?

        1. I think there are only 7 in the 113th Congress. Like I said, we’re underrepresented in the federal government. We fare better at the state and local level.
