Be careful – while there are some good repubs, voting for him could be like buying the rope with which they will hang you.

The republican party overall is controlled by the southern baptists / evangelicals, some of whom are behind the genocide of gays bill in Uganda.

The tide of public opinion is turning in favour of marriage equality and a small but growing number of Republicans know that they cannot sit there like Canute resisting that tide.

Pretty much everywhere it’s been put to a vote, it’s been rejected. The public do not want gay marriage, despite what some rigged polls in the Guardian might say.

These contradictions would make me laugh were they not so tragic: “Does this mean that the Church is anti-gay? No, for the Church welcomes everyone” Not if you are gay!

  6. The Republican Party is mostly made up of evil bigoted christian scum though.

    Let’s not forget that.

The Democrats are a rightwing party.

The Republicans are extreme right (like the BNP).

“Does this mean that the Church is anti-gay? No, for the Church welcomes everyone, respects each one personally and gives to each the spiritual means necessary to convert to God’s ways and maintain friendship with Christ.”

Really? So judging, condemning, denigrating our relationships is about conversion to God’s ways and friendship with Jesus Christ? Whatever happened to “judge not, lest ye shall be judged” nonsense? Now, that’s hypocrisy if I ever saw it.

    1. *fanatic religious Republican mode ON*

“judge not, lest ye shall be judged” ? That’s clearly liberal crap, wrote by those with a clear gay agenda. Who said that crap ? That must be work of those liberals who are trying to rewrite and twist the Bible, the holy word of the Lord, which this glorious nation was built on. They hate God so they make diabolical things like that. Scratch off that part of the Bible, it makes no sense for us.

*fanatic religious Republican mode OFF* (because it’s harmful for your physical and mental health staying too much time on this mode)

They’re just pandering to the homosexual vote, like they’ve said they must start pandering to the black and latino vote. Quite frankly, I don’t know why they bother. If minorities won’t vote for the Republicans, it says more about the minorities than it does about anyone else. And there’s no point giving up on everything you stand for, just to get votes. A Republican party that panders to minorities ceases to be the Republican party, and so defeats the whole purpose of getting elected. Easier just to join the Democrats instead.
