By reporting news stories of Westboro Baptist Church, I hardly think PinkNews is ‘promoting’ them. There’s nobody here who’d be in a queue to join-up. It isn’t giving a ‘platform’ to homophobia by reporting it. It’s actually very important for news outlets to report homophobia so that we are aware of it. Unfortunately not enough of it is reported in mainstream newspapers. The more society is aware of how much bigotry (and worse) still exists the better. It’s the REAL world and we can’t pretend to deny that it’s happening. What should PinkNews report if not this? 100% celeb gossip??
