Sit back and be patient …its only a matter of time before he is found to be just like us. Gay. People who protest too much are always found in the airport washrooms and then all the secret boyfriends come out of hiding to tell all. Patience.
I hope Jackson’s constituents who watch Embarrassing Bodies are made properly aware of his contemptuous attitude towards them.
Jackson’s insulting comment about David Cameron for supporting equal marriage underlines how important it is to support the Prime Minister as he proceeds with this measure in the face of fierce opposition and personal hostility from those who oppose it.
Yes, Chrissie, he IS making it up. Equal marriage was in the Contract for Equalities in 2010 so that’s another. The Parliament Act can be invoked and you’re right, it has no bearing on manifestos. I don’t think it will be necessary. We’re hearing these buffoons up the ante because they know the votes are probably there to see it pass. They were screaming the same hysterics when CPs were being debated, same script, same nonsense. The usual religious nutters up to mischief and where did it get them?
In fact, the Parliament Act was used back in 2000 to push through lowering the Age of Consent for gay males to 16, in the face of similar threatened opposition from the Lords, especially the Bishops (no surprises there, then).
Sure, I have an objection to the show (rock up to your GP with a lot of the “cosmetic” type issues and expect to be shown the door) but it is an absolute truism that people are shy and squeamish and don’t go to the doctor when really they should. So, while there is a bit of a freak-show element to it, it has some educational foundation too.
The MP? Another tedious hissyfit by someone still struggling valiantly to keep a figleaf over his disdain of gays being “icky” (or some asinine sky daddy argument…but who cares, since both are bunk from child minds).
Why is it that tory MP’s think they can say what they like and everybody on the receiving end has to bend over and take it, so to speak. Tories nothing if not repulsive and predictable
Gay marriage will be massacred in the House of Lords? Look at the House of Lords and look at the bills which have been massacred there and you will get a good idea of the moral and intellectual level there! There are many good people but there are many more reactionary crackpots! Can anybody really wonder why so many people want to get rid of the House of Lords and its bishops (all male cast)?
Bit of a stretch by Pink News here isn’t it? An MP criticises a TV show. The only link to LGBT stuff is that the MP has separately criticised equal marriage, and one of the show’s presenters happens to be gay. Was he criticising the show because the presenter was gay? Would the show be different if the presenter wasn’t gay?
Will we be seeing “anti-equal marriage MP opens presents” as a story tomorrow?
“The row began on Sunday with Dr Jessen alerting his 167,545 Twitter followers to an article in which Tory MP David Davies described legalising equal marriage as “barking mad”.”
I think the program is pretty crap as well. Is there anything wrong with thinking that a program is rubbish?
Is it now a case that just because it has a gay man in it, we have to like it?
Quite frankly, I think embarrassing bodies is an awful TV program. It’s “freak show” television at it’s finest.
It is an odd program though I think it does some good in encouraging people to go the their doctor. It shows us people live with conditions for years. But I am always amazed ghat people too shy to go to their own doctor will agree to show their lumpy labia or seething scrotum to millions on tv!
Strange, isn’t it? And yet perhaps they do it because they are guaranteed that their problem will be dealt with, by people whose manner they’ve had a chance to observe, objectively and unjudgmentally – qualities that can’t always be taken for granted in your local GP (even if you have a regular one, which most people don’t any more).
Sour grapes from a man who is obviously too embarrassed to get his kit off on TV. That handsome Dr. Christian Jessen is the main reason why I watch the show. The NHS could do with a few doctors like him.

Not sure where he got the idea that the Parliament Act could not be used to force this bill through the Lords.
I can’t see any provision in the Act that stops it applying to a bill just because it that bill was not specifically included in a party’s manifesto.
Is he just making this up as he goes along?

So this idiot is talking out his arse.
The wonderful thing about TV and havig numerous channels, if you don’t like something you can turn it over….
My MP does not represent his constituents.
Chav TV? Hardly.

Yes, their slogan is that it is better to give than to receive.
Be sure to let this homophobic bigot know what you think of his archaic views. His Twitter handle is: @SJacksonmp

The nasty party is back in town (if you hadn’t noticed)
It never left!
I remember Stewart Jackson from when he was at university. He was a bit of a prat back then, too
He’s probably scared of tattoos and body piercings in intimate places!
Go get pierced and inked and be proud to go against the sheep.
The derisive and classist attitudes of tory MPs continue unabated.
At last a Tory says something I can agree with!

Seriously he bandies about a classist insult like that just as the press as cooling off on Plebgate? Chavgate here we come!
