  1. That is what, in football world, passes for humour. Let’s not take ourselves too seriously.

    1. Really? So we should put up with the prejudiced witterings of f***wits just because they’re thick?

Actually, that’s very generous and tolerant of you. I’m afraid I find it harder to be so easy-going.

  2. The poor dear doesn’t seem very bright, does he?

    1. No idea if he’s bright or not but remember he’s using his second language.

      1. He says that his hairstyle means he can’t be homophobic.

That is dim, in any language.

        1. Agreed. But humour is a tricky thing to translate,

        2. And stereotyping.

  3. If a gay hairdresser gave me that hairstyle, I’d probably be pretty homophobic myself…

    1. And if a female hairdresser gave you that hairstyle would you beat her?

      1. No. But I wouldn’t beat a gay hairdresser either. To be properly homophobic I’d proabably refuse him a full tip and enquire whether the pope and Connor Comac O’Brien had to fight to get him as their personal stylist. Beating wouldn’t enter my mind.

    2. oh come on guys, that was funny.

the football player’s hair IS pretty dreadful.. I don’t see what it has to do with homophobia or pro-gay… to me it means whoever does his hair .. well, shouldn’t.

  4. Spray it green, and suddenly he bears an uncanny resemblance to Edd the Duck…

  5. What was the “hand gesture?

  6. Don’t know what to think of this incident as I didn’t see the incident or know anything about him. What is interesting is that seems to be a growing number of footballers who are clearly worried about being labelled homophobic and that must be a good thing. Perhaps 2013 will be the year when we get our first open gay footballer in a premier league team??

  7. His justification comments probably equate to prove he was being homophobic! To say “how can Ibe homophobic, look at my hair and what I wear” says it all really!

  8. Since when does having your hair styled like a toilet brush mean ‘you’re gay’? Some idiots should never bother opening their mouths. What an odd come-back as a ‘defence’. He pretty much proved his ignorance towards gay men with that remark.

  9. …this has got to be the most stupid, arsehole infested sport in he World? How many men do you think play football professionally?
Is it any wonder why it’s the most homophobic activity? You always have quite a few that want sex with other footballers but can’t. So it really makes me laugh…I feel that if you have the guts to come out and be honest about your sexuality all you get is fascist attitudes and even worse violence.

tranquilli sono italiano la cosa non preoccupa. il calciatore non è omofobo solo perchè ha mostrato segni con la mano. l’omofobia nei paesi latini è ben altra cosa..baci carlo

  14. That haircut is just bad, not gay at all

  15. if you look on google images, he has had several different hairstyles, some of which may or may not be more or less gay than an edd the duck hairstyle…
