  1. Which is why I use a condom every single time …

    1. Good!
It’s a shame so many others blame everyone else for this, when it’s their responsibility.

Good on you for taking matters into your hands and being responsible!
And if every gay did this then we wouldn’t have a HIV epidemic.

      1. Yes, because each “GAY” is responsible for HIV transmission around the world.

      2. We wouldn’t have a HIV epidemic if explorers never decided to have sex with monkeys and primates.

      3. If everyone was celibate, we wouldn’t have one either
If condom did not exist, but people got tested before sex curtailed some of the promiscuity, we wouldn’t have one either.
If gay men stopped having sex with men, and started having sex with women, we wouldn’t have one either.
If humans were quarantined anytime ANY new disease arose, we wouldn’t have ANY epidemic

Ok, but now back to reality……

Almost never have behavioral changes been the primary way humans survived an epidemic.
Shame on you for your naivety.

  2. ‘Self-reported penis size’
I think we can clearly say this evidence is inconclusive as everything was measured in gay inches.

    1. * smirks * :D

      1. Darren Theoret 19 Dec 2012, 1:01pm

        Gay Inches? Is that metric?

        1. Other way ’round, I think – where centimetres become inches.

          1. Hodge Podge 19 Dec 2012, 2:43pm

            tehe

          2. Darren Theoret 20 Dec 2012, 9:53am

Oh, ’cause the number seems larger. That’s funny!

    2. Hohoho VertMB, so right. The gall of these studyers to call it academic.

  3. marco genovesi 19 Dec 2012, 12:14pm

    another true story.

  4. GulliverUK 19 Dec 2012, 1:00pm

Do tall, or robust men not wear clothes? I mean, if they can’t find your size do they just go naked? No, Jacamo or elsewhere. Perhaps Jacamo should do enormous condoms also?

It’s up to the individual to cover it, whatever that takes. You only need to go to a supermarket, Boots, or elsewhere, and they should be able to supply a sufficiently large one.

    1. Staircase2 19 Dec 2012, 3:41pm

You’re missing the point; this is about the fact that ‘one size’ condoms are invariably available for free in most gay venues and that they should also make larger and smaller condoms available for free in the same way.

It’s a valuable piece of research in the fight against the spread of HIV. We would be foolish to discount it’s findings in the basis that we aren’t able to talk maturely about dick size or condoms…

  5. If this study is based on self-reporting, perhaps the headline should read: Men who have unprotected sex more likely to exaggerate their penis size.

    1. Jock S. Trap 19 Dec 2012, 3:28pm

Actually it was always a problem finding condoms to fit my partner, many men don’t exaggerate and will risk because they are not catered for in most places, that gives out free condoms or those place that sell them.

Some sex shops do sell or check online (advice for those who need).

  6. Robert in S. Kensington 19 Dec 2012, 1:28pm

I’m always amazed when I hear the ‘top’ and ‘bottom’ terms applied to a gay couple. It’s never mentioned when it’s a heterosexual couple and not all hetero women are bottoms, many get on top.

I can’t believe in this day and age, gay men can’t find the appropriate condom. I’ve walked into chemists and seen many different types displayed. Boots has a decent selection. Maybe gay bars and clubs should stock the different kinds available.

    1. Yes, somehow I don’t think there are many men who’d be embarrassed to ask for extra-large in these circumstances.

      1. Staircase2 19 Dec 2012, 3:45pm

        That’s simply not true.
It’s really simple: men with larger cocks need larger condoms and men with smaller cocks need smaller condoms
We should ensure that everyone has the same easy access to condoms that fit them properly

        1. Actually I was referring to buying in chemist’s shops. But by the same token, if it is evident to anyone that the regular size, for one reason or another isn’t suitable, in this day and age you’d think a grown-up would be sensible enough to stock up in advance if going to a bar or club.

    2. Somehow I don’t think you quite understand what “top” and “bottom” are referencing. It’s not your spatial position on the bed or your sex partner. You can be “bottoming” while above or below your partner – it’s about who’s doing what. Best go brush up on your jargon.

  7. Alex Sparrowhawk 19 Dec 2012, 1:45pm

Definitely a case of men who THINK they’re too big for regular condoms, Mr you aint, wrap up.

  8. Or perhaps it’s just that size queens are prepared to accept the risk in order to get filled by a large penis?!

  9. That reminds me, mustn’t forget the Mrs Ellswood Pickled Cucumbers for Christmas Day.

    Thanks PN!!

  10. I think this is actually quite interesting. I am hardly “porn star” huge, but I have certainly experienced significant difficulty in putting on a condom in the past, usually because they are ridiculously tight and so wont unroll and can result in losing an erection. I’ve even noticed that the free ones given out in clinics often seem to be even smaller than “standard”.

  11. Does anyone know where I can get extra-large cheap condoms in the UK for my partners?

  12. …of course if you are porn star huge and shun condoms you could always take the advice of one of GMFA’s 1990s “safe sex” campaigns and, in the height of that moment when your body begins to convulse and you start hitting those ecstatic heights you of course remember to “Pull out like a porn star!”

    Yeah, right.

And hey presto, fast forward 10 or so years:- HIV rates among gay men are at their highest ever and GMFA is STILL in business receiving tax payers’ cash to dispense such harebrained advice.

    Sheesh!

  13. Jock S. Trap 19 Dec 2012, 3:19pm

This is an important issue for all. Condoms are their for a reason and should be made for a reason of size too.

Have to say, serious news aside….. Erm… A cucumber with a condom? An average size cucumber at that!! Couldn’t they find a bigger one? lol

    1. Maybe they could find a bigger cucumber but couldn’t find a bigger condom…

      1. Darren Theoret 20 Dec 2012, 10:01am

        Cue the eggplant :)

  14. Dangermouse 19 Dec 2012, 3:24pm

As a guy who , shall we say is on the large size I’ve found the free condoms one finds around and a most of the ones for sale are eith tiny or small. But thats no excuse. I buy mine on the internet from the USA and in fact are cheaper than UK suppliers, if you buy a few boxes. As we have seen in the last few weeks HIV / AIDS is still a killer and its not rocket science to get a comdom on yer dick.

  15. Female condoms work GREAT and if you’re to big for on of those you are not getting anywhere near me ;-)
On the flip side just try to find a shop that sells slimmer fit “snuggies” condoms.

  16. It’s not the condoms I have trouble getting hold of, it’s the men to use them with…

  17. Ill fitting condoms are a thing of the past and a crap excuse to just do BB. I found a company called They fit that do 95 different sizes of condoms and you get a made to measure kit which can be fun to use!!! No i don’t work for them I just use them? they feel great.

  18. Correction : Study: The larger a gay man’s penis is, the more likely they are to commit acts of gross indecency

This has nothing to do with sex and every thing to do with disordered sexuality. The poll sounds really fake and pseudo-science to me – but hey, the homosexual lobby and the elite who back them waste money on this rubbish.

  19. It takes two to tango and no one can have unprotected sex unless someone else lets them – what they want is neither here nor there.

  20. Dangermouse 20 Dec 2012, 10:17am

Always use them they can save yourlife.

  21. Christopher in Canada 22 Dec 2012, 3:46am

The female condom solves a lot of problems.

  22. Not to brag, but as a gentleman who is…. considerably above average, especially in girth, this study does reflect my experience.

I can’t wear standard condoms comfortably – they either only roll halfway down and become too constricting and then result in loss of erection, or they tear. I’d rather do without when it’s such a faff.

I try to find places that sell larger rubbers, but I don’t why I should have to buy my rubbers when other guys can get good enough ones by picking them up in bars/clubs/saunas/GU clinic because they fit them.

The bigger and longer the penis, the better!
