  1. Lets hope that the Baptist moron church will not disturb his funeral… but I doubt they will loose such a chance to be disgusting as usual.

    “If I have one piece of advice for young, aspiring activists, it is to always hold on to the joy, always make it fun. If you lose that, you have lost the whole battle.”

    Wise words whether you are young or old. With so many haters getting column inches, we should remember how good it is to be alive and capable of loving and caring about others. He loved and cared, worked for the cause and to improve the lot of others. But I think he was saying that if all we do is daily duty without making time for the fun in life, we might forget what we’re striving towards.

    Note to PN: can you intersperse the occasional GOOD NEWS story, so we acknowledge the progress he and so many others have and are making.

  7. Spencer you have touched the lives of millions, most not even knowing it, nor do they realize the benefits they are enjoying due to your hard work and diligence. May you rest in peace and let your life and accomplishments be celebrated and used as a model for others to try to achieve.

    Great work, I and so many others owe a great deal to people like Spencer who worked so hard & was able to influence the scientists of the day to help in the development of a class of drugs that changed the face of HIV treatment & saved many many lives.

    They say onlyt the good die young – his passing seems to bear witness to this! Sweet dreams

    I feel like I was there in spirit – such an honest and heartfelt account.

    I always think of this line when we lose people in this way;

    “My heart has joined the Thousand, for my friend stopped running today.”
    from Watership Down – so very many parallels with our struggle.

  16. I confess I have never heard of him before now. He appears to have lived his life in an exemplary manner. If we praise people like this (and they genuinely deserve it), then maybe others will be attracted to following in his footsteps.

      Perhaps the lamest pseudo-romantic comment I’ve read in a long time! Hopefully noone feels attracted to following in the footsteps of the deceased regardless of how “we” (who???) evaluate whether an individual genuinely deserves praise.

      Merry christmas!

    Sad but true… Another glaring reminder of “the power of those drugs” … that is, their undeniable mitochondrial toxicities, which will inevitably slowly kill anyone who continues to consume them overtime.
