First off, I’m not sure whether Lady Gaga is brave or stupid for speaking out, knowing the risks involved. The authorities there do not care who she is and would throw her in jail for as long as they could.

That said, I do applaud her for doing so as many young Russians do look up to her and it is great that she is using the position that she is in for fighting for equality.

Secondly, the Russian authorities would know that acts like Madonna and Gaga would speak out, so why do they allow them permission to perform? Could it be the large amounts of money that they more than likely receive for doing so?

  2. Oh! Those funny old Ruskies …
Not exactly gold medal winners on human rights are they?
Good for Lady G. The more pop idols who refuse to be silenced by oppressive regimes like Russia’s, the more young people will rebel and, eventually, all these repressive regimes will crumble.

  3. Is she still in Russia?

If so then she needs to get the hell out.
