It shouldn’t be a matter of culture, it should be a matter of human rights. And it’s EQUAL marriage. If we can get the general public to adopt this terminology, maybe they, too, will see it’s about equality more than anything else.

He’s the idiot who said you shouldn’t muck about with marriage because it’s “been this way for centuries”. So I’m presuming he’ll be wanting to repeal the divorce laws and the Married Woman’s Property Act as those are “mucking about” with how marriage was centuries ago.

Maria Miller is the equalities minister and is pro equal marriage. The opposed minister is Edward Leigh. A bit confusing in the article
