The Maryland Governor O’Malley has always been a hero for LGBT people – ever since he was the Mayor of Baltimore and winning Governorship or Maryland!
Now Maryland becomes the first southern state in the US to legally allow same sex marriage at all four levels, the judiciary, the legislature, the Governorship and at the ballot box by 52 percent approved!
Well done to the people of Maryland!!!!!
‘First southern state to allow same-sex marriage’? Yes, its very symbolic indeed! And important both psychological and political for gay rights in the US in future.
It will have a domino effect across all the states. Slow but sure.
