Scott Evans, the younger brother of Captain America star Chris Evans was arrested in Los Angeles on Tuesday night for attempting to buy drugs from an undercover police officer.

The 29-year-old, openly gay actor is best known for his role on American soap One Life To Live.

It has yet to be confirmed what kind of drugs Evans was trying to purchase but website TMZ has confirmed he was booked at 6:15pm on Tuesday for attempting to buy a controlled substance.

There has been no official statement released, however, Evans posted the following message on his Facebook page Wednesday morning: “Most ridiculous night of my life in LA so far. At least I made it a year before getting arrested.”

The actor, who is from Massachusetts, was originally outed by his brother actor Chris Evans.

In a 2009 interview with the gay magazine The Advocate, Chris Evans was quoted as saying: “Yes, I do have a gay brother. I’m down with the gays.“

In an interview with website AfterElton.com, Evans was quoted as saying: “I came out when I was 19-years-old, and then I became an actor. I didn’t want to be one of those people who goes back into the closet and tries to hide because I knew it would come out.”

Scott Evans began his career on US soap Guiding Light before landing the historic role of gay police officer, Oliver Fish on One Life To Live.

His storyline sparked controversy and even resulted in co-star Patricia Mauceri walking off the set because she didn’t want to be involved in a gay storyline.

Evans is currently filming the movie Behaving Badly alongside Selena Gomez.
