Gay former X Factor contender Rylan Clark has been snapped up as a presenter on ITV’s Daybreak programme just days after being voted off the music reality show.

According to Metro, the 24-year-old singer will fill in for showbiz host Richard Arnold who is currently taking a rest from Daybreak following his exit from the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Ahead of his new TV gig Clark is set to perform at London’s G-A-Y nightclub this Saturday night alongside Lucy Spraggan.

Earlier this month Spraggan, 20, pulled out of this year’s X Factor after failing to recover from an illness that stopped her from performing in the live shows.

Speaking about his new Daybreak role, Clark said: “I can’t believe it. I only left X Factor a week ago and now I’m joining Lorraine and Aled on the Daybreak sofa.

“I’m a massive fan of the show and it’s going to be so much fun sharing all the showbiz news and gossip with the nation each morning.”
