A good start. Let’s hope Lord Leveson’s recommendations are heeded and upheld and that the dignity and respect for trans people will be maintained, though I don’t expect much cooperation from the Daily Mail or Telegraph.

  2. Thank you! Finally, someone recognises the major hand the press has had in damaging the reputation and warping the view society has on trans people. Let’s just hope that they listen to these criticisms and take them on board.

  3. Just another whitewash:

How was it that the intermate details of the Police investigation and sordid details of the death of Kristian Digby was all over the press?

And the sordid details of the death of the MI6 guy, Gareth Williams was also in the Press?

The Homophobic Murder of Stuart Walker, a barman from Cumnock, Scotland. The Police passed a ‘false report’ to the Press which implied Mr Walker was beaten and burned alive for an alleged child indecency incident.

The Murder of William John Saunderson-Smith. The Police passed intermate details of the investigation to the Press.

The press don’t care who they upset as long as they sell newspapers and make loads of money for themselves because I believe bad news sells better than good news.
