Good. It was and still is absolutely clear – like fact, that Pope is a Catholic and Queen Elisabeth is a monarchist. Now make same-sex marriage in New Zealand reality!

Surprise!! Everything the anti-equality crowd have said will happen…..won’t!! Maybe finally the Religious Right will realise that this actually ISN’T ABOUT THEM!!!!

I won’t be holding my breath.

  3. Why is there a picture of a Dalek with this article?

  4. Has to be the ugliest parliament building in the world – how about the next bill they debate is one to pull that hideous thing down and start again?

    1. Go to Wellington and see the building in its dramatic context, and you may begin to appreciate its remarkable design. It’s called The Beehive by the way . . . and, of course, it’s full of very busy bees currently buzzing away at granting Kiwis Marriage Equality.

  5. I really dislike these stories.

They do not actually tell an accurate story.

A more accurate story would state ‘New Zealand church receives assurance that it won’t have to perform same sex weddings, even though there was NEVER any question that it would. They are simply using whatever delaying tactics they can, because they are religious, and therefore bigots.’

    1. dAVID, that they are bigots goes without saying but to say that “because they are religious” doesn’t. Not all religious people have problems with marriage eqaulity. A majority of them either approve of it or couldn’t care less. These are just people full of hate who use religion to “justify” abuse against lesbians and gays. Even the justification is pretty weak as any unbiased person who does any real research into the Bible could tell you there is nothing there about homosexuality. The people using religion to speak out against same-sex marriage are really wolves in sheep’s clothing.
