If this happened in Uganda, in a potential near future, an innocent man could now be dead.

Once again, Scott Roberts leaves out any indication as to age of consent – which is vital to the story.

    1. If you’d read the original article a couple of days ago, you’d have read that the age of consent is 16 or 18 depending on which state you are in.

Can Mr. Clash seek damages from the liar?

      Doubtful.

It is rumored in some circles that six figures were involved in the recanting.
Many of those figures were allegedly zeros.

Magically now the accuser has recanted all this will go away! “WRONG!”

The accuser has never and may never be known… he has suffered no public shame or humiliation, likely he will never be charged for wasting police time or have to compensate his victim.

Kevin Clash how ever was publicly humiliated, and for a short time his freedom, safety and integrity compromised.

Genuine victims of abuse who find it hard to come forward and convince people they were harmed will continue to wonder if they will be believed.

Innocent victims of guilt by accusation suffer greatly! Public humiliation police charges, press propaganda and public hysteria for justice.

In a society that wants justice and sympathizes with victims… could or would a plea of innocence from Kevin Clash have been believed? could he ever undo the damage and live a normal life if found guilty?

I have great empathy for the genuinely abused. Unsympathetic to consequences to abusers! I never comprehend malicious liars.

I’m surprised PinkNews isn’t following up on this. the accuser has been “outed”.
He is Sheldon Stephens, a 23 year old part time model, part time petty thief.
Mr. Stephens has now recanted his recanting, claiming his lawyers forced
him to sign it. ( and that he wept as he signed. Drama queen or victim? )
