Are you sure it would be a non-story? 16 is legal here too, but a middle-aged children’s entertainer carrying on with a kid that age is still a wee bit of a problem. The issue isn’t the legality of it so much as the ethics of it. I mean, he seems like a decent enough guy from what I’ve seen of him in interviews, and I doubt there’s any sort of Jimmy Savile type story here, but it still shows very poor judgment on his part.
sounds like this other guy is trying to get something out of this, if he was above the age then where’s the problem if the guy lied about his age then thats another matter
Oh dear, this is one of those there’s-nothing-actually-wrong-here-but-we’re-going-to-trash-the-gays-with-gossip-and-insinuations-anyway stories. Thanks CNN.
I know perfectly well that having been married and having a grown-up daughter doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t be gay, but to what extent has Kevin Clash ever allowed himself to be described as a ‘gay Sesame Street actor’ before?

It would be helpful if the article were to include information on age of consent no?
This is effectively a non story in the UK where the age of consent is 16.
And what exactly does ‘inappropriate’ actually mean in this context? Are you saying its illegal or misjudged?
But it doesn’t say ‘inappropriate’ anywhere in this article, does it?
Though, personally, I don’t find the thought of a man in his 50s having sex with a teenager at all appealing (regardless of sexuality).
He was in his mid-40s when the relationship started. The accuser is now 23 years old.
That makes him 28 years older than the teenager (who’s little older than his daughter) at the time? Still not appealing IMO.

if the guy is 16 and it was consential sex, with both parties of the age of consent, I dont see any problem. But then it is the USA

Man has consensual sex. More at 11.
Tickle me Elmo…indeed.
Innocent, as most thought..
