For gay people outside America, this election is about more than marriage equality and a woman’s right to choose.
Progress has been made in the UN towards a goal of global decriminalisation and recognising discrimination and persecution of gay people internationally, progress that was held up by the Bush Administration and undoubtedly will again by a Romney Administration.
I am concerned that countries that are currently called to account for homophobic persecution by Obama, Clinton, and the Sec. General of the UN, will get a free ride and increase persecution if Romney wins.
Romney would not only plunge the US into recession, he could cost the lives of gay people across the globe.
