  1. Certainly gives me hope about religious types when I read stories like this.

I do lots of door knocking re marriage here in MD. Its surprisng how many people with catholic names support marriage. A great majoriy and I live in a conservative district.

Same re republicans whose party is opposed. The voter lists I use are public documents and give a Repub or Dem symbol for each voter as registered.

  2. Sadly such is the hate of their church leaders of the LGBT Community, that they could all get excommunicated. However, it is certainly a change of heart and the hope of the beginning of the winds of change that could be blowing through the Roman Catholic Church.

  3. Good for them!

Many Catholics hold their senior clergy in contempt these days, particularly in America, where the diocese have been bankrupted by thousands of claims of abuse. Does the Vatican bank step in to pay these claims? I think not.

  5. this disconnect between the Vatican and the general church membership is NOT a “new thing”.

There has been tension between the considerably more liberal-leaning church membership and the ultra conservative leadership for decades.

It just depends upon which country you examine.

But as it has become increasingly extreme right wing, authoritarian, and less empathetic and Christ-like, it has alienated more and more people.

You should see the new, very infantile C4M video. The CI is asking everyone to go and “like it”. I suggest people go and “unlike” it.

The underlying, or lying, message is that marriage is only for procreation.

Maybe someone could make a spoof!

  7. More like this, please.
