  1. I love the “…I guess” :)

  2. Good for her, doesn’t this right wing nut job realise how many gay people ended up in camps with the pink triangle armbands? I suppose 6 million Jews weren’t killed either at similar camps.

  3. Good for her for pointing out what utter nonsense he was speaking.

    1. Actually she rightly called it hate.

  4. Who knew Kermit the Frog was such a bigot…

  5. Maybe others in the media will be inspired to have the courage to cut off the likes Bryan Fischer, Ann Coulter, and others who take advantage of the media to spread their lies and whip their low-information flocks into a hate-filled frenzy.

    1. Tom Cotner 17 Oct 2012, 2:01pm

Don’t hold your breath expecting that!

  6. Robin Ellwood 17 Oct 2012, 2:02pm

Surely they must have known that a well known bigot would make bigoted remarks?

    1. Well, some of those nuts say one thing on their sites, which only other nuts read, and quite another on TV.

  7. Jim Nashville 17 Oct 2012, 2:06pm

I have always felt that if the news media stopped giving these nut cases air time they would go away .. but that isnt true ..we need to know who they are and what they look like .. I am grateful that someone finally stood up to these crazies .. you know he has issues not only with gblt community but within himself .. . therapy is needed

    1. Same therapy that a rabid dog gets. Some cases are hopeless and this clown fits that category.

    2. She’s not afraid of controversy. This is the same CNN anchor whoi was not afraid to correct Mitt Romney in t presidential debate

Technically a point and laugh. Good for her. Best strategy to deal with these people when they spout such idiocy.

  9. He was invited onto her show, what did she expect?

This reflects more badly on CNN and just goes to show what a censor-happy, corporate-owned propaganda-machine it really is and how it fulfils its mandate in keeping the US masses ignorant, uninformed and dumbed down.

    Jersey Shore, anyone?

    1. That There Other David 17 Oct 2012, 4:30pm

The US masses are definitely now informed of one thing. The FRC, the AFA and their leaders are just raving anti-gay loonies, who’ll say and repeat any number of lies in order to demonise us. If this cut-short interview means that one less American gets fooled into taking anything they say seriously then hats off to CNN for exposing their ignorance and insanity.

    Fischer is sooo heterosexual.

    1. The thing is he most likely is. The problem is that he refuses to accept there are people who are naturally different to him, and when he comes across them he wants to shut them down. The guys a joke and its best these people have this ridiculous group so they can be together in their madness.

  11. Cutting off offensive phone contributors to a single presenter is always problematic – it can seem like an attempt to stifle unpopular speech, whereas in fact the presenter may not have time (with lots of other contributors queueing up) or precise knowledge to counter absurd remarks. Cutting off may thus seem a good way to avoid accusations of giving ample platform to hate speech.
I think longer and freer studio discussions are better for this sort of thing – lies and distortions can be more effectively exposed and debunked.

    1. He was talking over her with utter lies, she did the right thing in this case.

  12. Thank you Carol, you have done a great thing.

  13. “before she decided that his outspoken language was too much to bare.”

Too much to *bear*, please. No nudity words in a piece about the “look how righteous, superior and squeaky-clean we are” American Family Association, please.

    1. Dave North 17 Oct 2012, 8:14pm

      “Squeaky Clean”

These are the filthiest sickest closed minded bigots in the US.

Unfortunately their poison is seeping into Europe via their funding things like Christian Concern and the Christian Institute, and maybe just the “Unconcerned Hate Peddling Jebus hugging Moms of Guildford”.

Their is absolutely nothing “Christian” about any of these people.

      1. David In Indianapolis 18 Oct 2012, 10:20am

        Not only Europe, but Africa!

Don’t forget about the “Kill The Gays” legislation in Africa. They’ve been peddling that over there like hell won’t have it.

He’s an appalling excuse for a human being.

  14. He does know that Hitler persecuted gays as well as the jews … right? What an ignorant douche who needs to open a history textbook.

    1. He isn’t ignorant, he is a hatemonger.
