This reflects more badly on CNN and just goes to show what a censor-happy, corporate-owned propaganda-machine it really is and how it fulfils its mandate in keeping the US masses ignorant, uninformed and dumbed down.

The US masses are definitely now informed of one thing. The FRC, the AFA and their leaders are just raving anti-gay loonies, who’ll say and repeat any number of lies in order to demonise us. If this cut-short interview means that one less American gets fooled into taking anything they say seriously then hats off to CNN for exposing their ignorance and insanity.

The thing is he most likely is. The problem is that he refuses to accept there are people who are naturally different to him, and when he comes across them he wants to shut them down. The guys a joke and its best these people have this ridiculous group so they can be together in their madness.
Cutting off offensive phone contributors to a single presenter is always problematic – it can seem like an attempt to stifle unpopular speech, whereas in fact the presenter may not have time (with lots of other contributors queueing up) or precise knowledge to counter absurd remarks. Cutting off may thus seem a good way to avoid accusations of giving ample platform to hate speech.
I think longer and freer studio discussions are better for this sort of thing – lies and distortions can be more effectively exposed and debunked.
He was talking over her with utter lies, she did the right thing in this case.
