  1. I don’t believe Obama is a muslim.

    I don’t believe Obama is a christian.

I believe that Obama is an atheist; but because the US is so jampacked of weirdo religious extremists he has to pretend to believe in the little baby Jeebus in order to get elected.

I mean he is highly intelliigent and well educated.

Why on EARTH would he believe in that religious rubbish?

    1. I think you are right, he appreciates those who have a faith – but is evolved enough to know that deities are just ‘man’ made projections of our own egos.

Americans seem not to realise what a brilliant President this man is.

His Holiness Richard Dawkins thinks so too and says he thinks JFK and Clinton was and is Atheist as well.

      1. I’d well believe it.

        Ronald Reagan as well.

Ronald Reagan became a regular churchgoer about 2 years before he became President. .

Before that he never attended church, but realised that in order to be president he would have to pretend to be religious.

  2. Anyone who knows anything about Madonna will know she was simply making a joke that people think he’s a muslim.

    It wasn’t a ‘gaff’.

And no, I’m not a massive obsessed fan. I’m more of a Kylie boy myself!

    1. Pretty stupid ‘joke’ though, coming from someone supposedly as PR-savvy as she is, wouldn’t you say?

      1. I don’t think it’s stupid, it’s just been analysed too much:

“a black, ‘muslim’, president.” – I think she was just making a veiled comment about the ludicrous nature of the drama surrounding whether he is or isn’t.

  3. Madonna, the difficulty is that you are playing with Poe’s Law – where those who satirically portray the lunatic fringe are indistinguishable from actual wingnut extremists.

And while I agree that it shouldn’t matter what he believes, it it bloody naive, in the modern political climate, that it genuinely doesn’t matter. The removal of religion from political discourse is going to take a very long time.
