US pop star Pink says she looks forward to the day when titles to describe people and their orientation becomes meaningless.

In an interview on GaydarRadio’s breakfast show this morning, the So What singer told presenters Neil Sexton and Debbie Ryan: “I think that the best day will be when we no longer talk about being gay or straight –  it’s not a ‘gay wedding’ it’s just a ‘wedding’, it’s not a ‘gay marriage’ it’s just ‘a marriage’.

Pink continued: “It’s not a ‘black man’ or ‘white woman’, it’s just ‘a man’ and ‘a woman’ or ‘a human’ and ‘a human’. I’d just like to get to that.”

When asked about her gay fans Pink said: “There’s always these artists who are gay but write from a straight perspective and I’ve never truly understood that.

She added: “I mean, I don’t judge; everybody has their own way of doing things but I think it is important to represent everybody, and if its (representing gay people) in my video then let’s do it!”

Pink also blasted the current nature of American politics – but she hopes President Obama can win November’s election.

“It’s a ping-pong game of power and no decisions are being made on either side. I would like (Obama) to have four more years to be stronger. I think even he knows, he needs to be stronger and to stop trying to please everyone. I don’t think it’s time to start over with a brand new person with the same set of problems,” the star said.
