  3. As soon as she took her silly stance it was always going to be an absolute gift to the opposition parties – particularly the Tories. No political nous at all – how bloody green can you get?

And the Tory councillor is probably against equal marriage too.

    1. All Tory councillors on Brighton council voted for marriage equality.

  6. The title of this article bothers me. She wasn’t kicked out of the Green Group because she opposes equal marriage, she was kicked out for breaking an agreement. If he thinks disciplinary action is nothing more than petty “squabbling” then I have absolutely no faith in his ability to make any kind of rational comment on anything.

Joel, stop pretending to be worried by matters of unreality. The Conservative gave a stupid, mindless soundbite in the manner of all politicians.

I understand that this woman signed an undertaking with the part that she was elected to represent and then went totally against the view held by the party and what they won the majority vote on. I therefor think the party has legal grounds to take her to court and ask her to step down, she did after all misrepresent herself to the party

She did indeed misrepresent herself, in other words, lied. Now isn’t that against what being a ‘christian’ is all about, not judging others and lying about it? Bearing false witness against one’s neighbour is one of the tenets of christianity. People like Ms. Summers are ‘christian’ in name only and it matters not if she or anyone else like her attend religious services regularly. In fact it makes her and those of her ilk all the more a hypocrite and a bigot.

Definition of a bigot: a person who is intolerant of any ideas and prejudices other than his or her own, especially on religion, politics, or race and one who regards or treats the members of any group, be it racism or ethnic groups as well as sexual orientation.

  8. Keith-Was she just a ‘stalking horse’ to enable the Christian Institute to take on yet another court case for publicity reasons?

Rearrange the following into a well known phrase or saying:
    Brewery, organise, up, piss.

  10. As though the Tories or other parties on the Council wouldn’t take the whip from a party member on the Council who signed up to official policy and then ratted on it. Hypocritical hot air.
