Celebrities including One Direction’s Harry Styles, singer Rita Ora and Cheryl Cole are helping out Radio 1’s new breakfast show presenter Nick Grimshaw, in a promotional video for the station.

After confirming that he is indeed gay last month, the 28-year-old is about to become one of the country’s most prominent LGBT public figures.

Earlier this summer, it was announced Grimshaw (or ‘Grimmy’ to his fans) would be taking over from Radio 1’s long-serving and infamous breakfast host Chris Moyles – who on occasion, during his eight years of waking up Britain angered gay rights campaigners for some of his allegedly anti-gay jokes and questionable antics.

Moyles’ final show was on Friday – Scott Mills is currently standing in while Grimshaw is on holiday.

Nick Grimshaw’s BBC Radio 1 breakfast show starts on 24 September 2012.
