  1. I don’t see how acting a gay character is “challenging, different, and entails some risk” … The only risk it curtails is homophobic media and gossip sites looking too much into it.

Acting is all about putting oneself in someone else’s shoes.
Maybe a few more people should try it sometime and then they might begin to understand why there is a demand for gay rights in the first place.

    2. I quite agree, it’s extraordinary how for so many actors portraying a homicidal maniac is seen as routine but someone gay is such a massive “challenge”.

However there is, unfortunately, the danger that large numbers of gay men (I can think of one regular on this site alone) will say “Aha! I knew it all along, he must be gay!” in the way that non-gay people used to and, interestingly, no longer seem to do.

(I think you mean ‘entails’ not ‘curtails’, by the way.)

  2. And when is planning on coming out of the closet? PLEASE! We don’t need the support of someone’s who’s still afraid of acknowledging his own sexuality in public and is still hiding in the closet!
