  1. How many times do we have to tell these morons that being gay is not a disease, neither is marriage all about procreation!

    1. I’m also sick of telling these people that I am most definitely not firing blanks. I am totally ‘able’ to have children, thanks.

      1. Exactly, Mark. LGBT aren’t infertile and I too am sick of people saying we are.

this is the last gasp of the sieg heil people in Ireland

73% of the people there support changing the constitution to allow gays to marry.

the most catholic nation in the world has turned its butt toward the vatican church of the endless molestation of children by its sex starved priests.

    . . . so . . . straight non-fertile couples should not be able to ‘get married’ either then? . . .

. . . or straight older couples who have gone through the menopause and are childless or choose not to have children should not be able to ‘get married’ either . . .

strange world we live in . . .

  3. ‘Mr Tormey is a “liberal social democrat and fights discrimination head on”’
I wonder what his definition of a right-wing bigot is? The mind boggles.

  4. I would not have a practising politician as my doctor in any case, however right on. I would rather my doctor did one job well than two poorly.

  5. So he’s a city councillor so his bigoted stupidity is to be expected – politicians are not known for their intelligence.

But this guy is a doctor.

With this type of bigotry he is unsuitable to be treating the public.

He should eb fired from his job as a doctor as he is not fit for purpose to treat LGBT patients.

Just another sick arso who needs to get his name in the headlines…Dr. Wacko…

So, Dr. Tormey, is it also philosophically incorrect if infertile hetero couples can’t reproduce and what about those who choose not to have children, a cause for annulment in the catholic church which implies that such a couple should not be married.

  8. He has an astonishingly feeble grasp of philosophy and, for that reason and many others by the sound of it, he should learn to keep his mouth shut.

  9. As an Irishman myself I just want to say one thing: Gobsh*te!!

  10. Why do people have to listen to this idiotic remarks all the goddamn time !!!Why do some politicians who are out of touch with reality think they have the right to define the marriages of other people !!! Marraige legaly is a contract betwen 2 consenting adults and nothing more nothing less

  11. I reckon he’s really discovering what fighting discrimination head-on feels like right now!

    Uncomfortable, Dr?

    1. How so?

He’s not being discriminated against – he is being condemned for his bigotry and stupidity.

  12. He’s a doctor?! LGBT are just as fertile as anyone else, and it’s shocking that he doesn’t seem to understand that. Not that fertility is a pre-requisite for marriage anyway…

And straight people should come first as adoptive parents?? Yes, nevermind who would be the BEST parents, eh? Let’s just make sure they’re straight *rolls eyes*

Yes, “stupid” is a very good description of his comments.

“He added that marriage among LGBT people is “philosophically incorrect” due to their ‘inability’ to produce children.”

If he thinks this then he is clearly unfit to practice medicine and should be struck off.

  14. This Idiot and other doctors need to be vetted properly , before they are let loose to abuse the public with their discrimination and prejudice. Those hospitals that employ him, desperately need to upgrade the quality of their employees. So glad i will never be seeking medical care in dublin.

  15. “He added that marriage among LGBT people is “philosophically incorrect” due to their ‘inability’ to produce children.”

In short, this is like saying “I am a fool”. The man should had back his doctorate, the exams clearly weren’t hard enough.

  16. “… marriage among LGBT people is “philosophically incorrect” due to their ‘inability’ to produce children.”

and what about straight marriages where one partner is incapable of producing children – presumably this idiot thinks, by his definition, their marriage is also “philosophically incorrect” ???
