    If Phil Lynott owned the rights to ‘The Boys Are Back In Town’ then surely Philomena Lynott, as Phil’s mother should be in a position to deny the Republican Party the right to use the song. Unfortunately the chances are that the record company has the rights to the song which is often used as a ‘walk on’ theme for a wide variety of settings. One of Thin Lizzy’s most popular songs, ‘Whiskey In The Jar’ is a rock version of a traditional Irish song.
