  1. I wouldn’t condone vandalism, but I couldn’t help being pleased to read about this – “Tastes like hate” says it all.

What concerns me is that someone appears to have suggested that Manuel castro was ‘motivated by religious hate’. I understand that wasn’t granted as true, but even so, the very idea that someone standing up to homophobia could be potentially accused of that is disgraceful.

It seems that’s been a common tactic amongst the more extremist “religious” groups lately, to treat any criticism of their homophobia as infringement upon their religious freedom, and to act like they’re the ones being discriminated against. They talk about us trying to redefine marriage, while they try to redefine *reality* by representing the oppressors as the oppressed. On some level, the audacity and brazenness of such an attempt is almost impressive.

religious freedom gave the vatican the right to mass murder tens of millions in the xtian crusades

the right to create the hatred of Jews that led to the holocaust and the election of Hitler

And every other religious based horror in world history

BTW – little known – Stalin went to a Russian Orthodox church seminary in his youth.

Need I say more about the monstrosity of conservative religion, If only hell were real, it would be bursting at the seams wwith xtians.

  2. So, it seems that Orwell was right. Some animals really ARE more “equal” than others.

  3. “Finally, the record does not establish the suspect was motivated by religious hatred.”

I’m really confused as to why being AGAINST the hatred had to be assessed for ‘religious hatred’ in the first place…

I think a court would have had difficulty convicting in any case brought because the defence of ‘fair comment’ would have been pretty hard to refute, given the policies of the company in question, so I suppose this is why no prosecution is being mounted.
