It’s not solely attributable to Obama. Oddly enough, the National Organization for Marriage is partially responsible. Internal memos became public making it clear that blacks were being played. Furthermore, the NAACP has give full throated support for marriage equality.
These things have changed perspective from religiosity to equal protection under the law for a minority.
