So sad. Watched all his events.

Keep smiling Matthew. You are still a winner to us here in Australia

  3. I saw the semi final and you could tell Matthew was a bundle of nerves. He was hyper excited when he did well on a couple dives and really down when he didn’t. All that pressure couldn’t have been easy. I’m glad for you Brits that Tom got in as did Riley, the cute Canadian. The 2 guys from my country (USA) got in with David Boudia coming in 3rd to the Chinese who will be very tough to beat.

He seems like a really charming personable guy, shame he didn’t go further. Tom Daley could do with learning with some integrity from him.

    1. Eh? What’s your problem with Tom Daley? Have you watched all the diving? Who are you to question Tom’s integrity?

He’s in the closet and its a commonly accepted fact both in his home town and in general. His sham heterosexual relationships -probably at the behest of nervous sponsors- is just pathetic and sad. Daley will only come out when he no longer has a career in sports or sponsors to worry about. Shame really.

You assume an awful lot , presumably you come from a long line of bummers and the bummer family are proud of you for what precisely?
Tom Daley’s sexuality orientation is his own affair and going public with a pronouncement of his orientation or not , is his decision to make and his business and not the decision or business of a member of the bummer family , suddenly or not , you are the weakest link GOODBYE.

        2. FFS the boy’s only just turned 18, who are you to broadcast his sexuality?

You might also want to note that officially Mitcham didn’t come out till he was 20.

It doesn’t matter. He’s still a wonderful role model for young gay men.

  11. For NBC to capitolize on your sexual choice!?!? Sounds like a potential lawsuit to me…work it my friend!!!!!!!

  12. Yeah, but the American David Bodia that barely made the finals in the last (18th) position came back and miraculously won the GOLD denying the Chinese the 10m men’s platform for the second straight Olympics.

Mr. Bodia is as gay as a sack full of tiaras but unfortunately he is one of those Americans who “gives all the honor and glory to his lord and savior Jesus Christ” and has his fiance beard cheering in the stands.

    1. NBC did a wonderful story on Matthew where he talked extensively about his being gay.

That’s a far cry from Beijing where the network went out of its way to hide his boyfriend and avoid his sexuality.

    2. They just now showed the diving competition here. I didn’t realize that daily won a medal too! It’s great to see that Great Britain and America were on the podium!

      1. Brain fart. Daley. I was typing while watching the Olympics on television. My spell-check brain took over and typed “daily”. Sorry.

  13. Matthew is still a champion to me. Out and proud, what a great role model to gay youth.

  14. Why do some sports commentators still make such old-fashioned and discriminatory remarks on air? Jake Humphrey is one of the worst offenders, as you can see from his comment last night about Tom Daley’s fans -
