  1. *YAWN* The catholic church is becoming even more tiresome!

    1. billywingartenson 22 Aug 2012, 12:22pm

the virgin mary – lived in a time when, like in islam today in saudi land, if a woman got raped it had to “be her fault” and she was stoned to death

So the victim of some roman soldier with swollen gonads concocked up a story that led the the curse of humanity in the western world.

  2. They could encourage the use of proper birth control. They could target their immense wealth to helping STRAIGHT people not feel they have no choice but to abandon their children. But no, they target the LGBT people who offer those abandoned children a home and a family instead.

Could the putrid and filthy sick-minded cult of Rome sink any lower? How much longer can their moronic, fallacious, lack-witted bilge infect the world.

  3. Who cares?

There is complete separation of church and state in France so the catholic cult can go eat s*** for all it matters.

Why is Pink News so OBSESSED by religion?

    It’s bizarre and unnecessary.

    1. For as long as the Catholic Church acts to demean, denigrate, and discriminate against people whose sex lives are none of their damn business, Pink Paper will report it.

The obsession lies with Joe Ratzinger and the fascist, kiddie-fidling assholes-in-frocks who should keep their noses out of other folks’ business.

      1. Did you miss the bit where I said that France has complete separation of church and state?

What the catholic cult (or muslim or christian or jewish or hindu) cults do in France is completely irrelevant as these moronic cults have nothing to do with setting public policy.

How come Pink News does not ever have an article praising the common sense approach of atheism.

Pink News is OBSESSED by religion.

        Which is bizarre.

        1. If you have such an issue with religion and PN reporting about it then why are you reading then commenting on the story. If you have such a problem with it then here’s an idea. Don’t click on it, leave it for those who do want to read such stories

        2. I appreciate PN reporting this kind of thing. Some religions are making a concerted effort prevent us achieving equality and even trying to undo theUS Republicans are the main enemies. We need to know what they are up to. Catholicism is still very influential whether separated from the state of not.

        3. Pink News has every right to publish anything concerning gay people. If you don’t like it, create your own non-news website.

        4. Sorry dAVID, your logic is totally flawed.

All sorts of people and institutions have nothing to do with setting public policy, e.g. Richard Littlejohn, Melanie Phillips, the Telegraph, the Mail etc, etc.

Unfortunately, many of them can influence the general public and hence those who do set public policy.

Therefore, the larger and more influential the organisation, the more we need to challenge its homophobic views.

Whether we like it or not, the Catholic Church in France (and elsewhere) still does have some influence, although thankfully it’s far less powerful than it used to be. We need to hasten its terminal decline by showing that its bigoted hatred is unacceptable in a civilised society.

    2. Because religious organisations are obsessed with us.

      1. Or possibly because they are obsessed with their own sexuality and feel the need to project it out onto other easy targets like gay men and women.

“Above all, don’t lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.”

        [Fyodor Dostoyevsky] The Brothers Karamazov

    3. @dAVID: “Why is Pink News so OBSESSED by religion?”

Scratch the surface of bigotry and human rights denial/abuse and there you’ll find religion as the seed if not the driving force. That s why people like me are obsessed by and despise religion.

  4. “The Church also asks for “the courage to make hard choices and a better quality of life for all.”

And just so I’m clear allowing abused, or abandoned, or unwanted (etc.) children to be left in care homes is the way to do this rather than allow them to be raised in a proper household with parents who will show the child love and affection?

You couldn’t make it up could you?

Interesting that the roman cult among others say nothing in regard to widows or widowers with children who never remarried. They don’t want gay men and women raising children because ‘both need a mother and a father’, yet they ignore the straight single parent families and are never the targets of villification or hateful rhetoric. Even some children in straight foster care have been the victims of sexual and other forms of physical abuse, and again, the cults say nothing while diddling in the case of the roman cult, boys and girls behind closed doors for centuries. The roman cult is a total fraud when it claims to be pro family. By discriminating against gay couples who may have children, they’re discriminating against the children, damned bigoted hypocrites.

      1. USA 50% divorce rate and climbing.

But the church continues to blame the gays for “threatening marriage”

While meanwhile we’re still unraveling how the pedoriests had trial before marriage sex with kiddies

Only religion, based on ignorance and superstition could screw up this way.

  5. Atheism is the only sensible belief system.

If you believe in ‘god’ or religion, then you are being wifully stupid.

    1. I think your comment is as arogant as the catholic’s comments. I don’t care what people believe in but I hate it when people start saying ‘my way is the only way’.

    2. Willful stupidity is not the only reason people believe in the tenets of religions. A lot of them are simply ignorant or indoctrinated.

Ignorance is not a crime. A lot of people are ignorant about a lot of things. Enforcing and promoting ignorance is a crime, but simply not knowing things is not.

There are also a lot of people for whom religion is about cultural identity, rather than about fact. Most people in Britain who describe themselves as religious are this way, so the surveys show.

      1. time to outlaw relgiious education until the age of majority. We need to stop the mental abuse of children. As well as the sexual

    3. @dAVID. Please get it right: Atheism is NOT a belief system!

  6. Robert in S. Kensington 6 Aug 2012, 4:04pm

I love the way Hollande does it. No nonsense, no kow-towing or deferring to religious cults. France knows better than any country how to separate religion from civil matters.

If only our own government wouldn’t persist in being politically correct so as not to offend the religious nutters and psychopaths in the state and roman cults. Meanwhile, they get away with virtually anything they say that isn’t true, yet demeaning, cruel and hateful. They have more rights than the rest of us.

They can “pray” all they like.

    Their ain’t nobody listening.

Give a man a fish. He will eat for a day.

Give a man a net. He will eat fish for a year.

Give a man prayer. He will die praying for a fish.

    1. i like that…well said….

  8. Once again the Catholic Church seeks to corner the child molestation market. Their motto: “no cute child left unraped.”

  9. THIS JESUS GUY HAS A LOT TO ANSWER FOR…..

    1. To be fair, he would be utterly baffled and dismayed by what the ‘Christian’ goyim believe about him and do in his name. He was just an Apocalyptic Jewish prophet (there are spates of them now and again) who was too early for the Apocalypse and just in time for the brutal expediencies of the Roman State.

  10. France is strictly secular and any religious interference with public policy is not tolerated.

So the Catholic Church will get no where with this :-)

  11. Pavlos Prince of Greece 6 Aug 2012, 5:34pm

How influential gay rights movement became! We can even Catholic church bring back to the past.

  12. The prayer entreaties God that children “cease to be objects of desires and conflicts of adults.” I guess the Catholic Church is hoping none of these children hang out with pedophile-priests who prey upon these children with sexual desires.

  13. Yes, far better to leave them suffering in orphanages than in a secure and structured home life with two loving and committed parents.

The church shouldn’t use children as pawns in their anti-homosexual agenda. It’s sick.

  14. Dan Filson 6 Aug 2012, 6:41pm

Pretty rich for the Catholic Church to take a lead from King Louis XIII who bedded male courtiers and was noted, in an era rife with them, for not having any mistresses. He was at minimum bisexual if not gay. His father was murdered when he was nine. His son was a dreadful king who embroiled France in endless and bloody wars. He himself plotted to escape from the power of Cardinal Richelieu. What a paragon for the Catholic Church to now seek to emulate.

  15. A prayer asking that children “cease to be objects of desires”. Wholly appropriate when considering the predatory desires of their own raping clergy.

France is a secular country, a fact confirmed in it’s constitution dating from the post-revolution period of the 1790′s which also saw the country become the first European country to decriminalize gays. I hope that France continue to recognise it’s constitution in disregarding the Catholic Church which is clearly 221 years behind the times.

Frankly they’re doing us a favour – we couldn’t hope for better free PR from our opponents. The more batsh!t crazy these people portray themselves the more people realise they’re lunatics and freaks.

Of all the terrible organisations in the world the Catholic church (not the majority of it’s UK and US followers, and I suspect not most of it’s overall followers), are pure evil. If even you wanted to define Satan, this is it. (to use their terms).

I do feel sorry for the majority of liberal Catholic followers whose own beliefs are being betrayed bigtime. They must rise up and defeat from within.

    1. Absolutely, I had intended to post something similar.

There are probably millions of people who weren’t much concerned about equal marriage, but they will now have been disgusted by the ever-more hysterical outpourings from the churches.

Many will now support equal marriage on the basis that, if that’s the best that its opponents can come up with, there can be no valid reason not to allow it.

Damn!! Browser spellcheck corrected my French!!!! :-D

  19. Bill McFarlane 6 Aug 2012, 9:44pm

    The catholic church is irrelevant!

  20. GulliverUK 7 Aug 2012, 12:31am

I thought I read in the last few weeks, and I don’t know where it was, that there were more people who are gay in France, that there are Catholics in France.

  21. Kim Berlin 7 Aug 2012, 7:44am

I’m shocked … And I thought the catholic church support human rights

  22. Dave North 7 Aug 2012, 9:17am

    So what.

Some brain washed adherents of a pointless cult are going to stand together, hands clasped, praying to to thin air in opposition of gay adoption.

    That’s going to work. NOT.

Why are the religious allowed to vote. They are clearly insane.
