What I find laughable is that the anti-gay freaks try to scare people with polygamy, yet their ‘holy’ book it totally ok with it, and even encouraging of it.

The so called christians pick and chose what parts of their holy book to adhere to and what they feel is relevant. This is why all their arguments are so deeply flawed!

  3. I think the band should sue for broadcasting the song without permission from the band. If record labels and production studios can choose to sue youtube users the same rule should apply here

  4. I honestly don’t even care about polygamy. It’s not for me but if everyone involved is consenting, why keep them from doing that they want?
This is absolutely hilarious though and I hope a lawsuit takes some money away from their anti-gay campaign

To be fair, I’ve just read up on this a bit – polygamy was permitted in the Old Testament because ‘it filled a need’ (oh yes, I bet it did!!) …. due to higher mortality rates for men, women living longer, and a patriarchal society where women were largely uneducated and couldn’t survive easily on their own without succumbing to slavery or prostitution (their words, not mine).

However …. in the New Testament, and this is the interesting bit, ‘God’s view evolved’.

    How do they know that?

Well, they just made it up clearly.

At the time of the New Testament …
Male mortality still high? – Yes
Women still living longer? – Yes
    Patriarchal society still? – Yes
Lone women still at risk from prostitution and slavery? – Yes

Nothing changed. God’s opinion didn’t evolve. What is does tell us though it that religious leaders can alter and change the message from God as and when it suits them and therefore there is nothing to stop God’s opinion evolving today to support equal marriage.
