Ignore the chest pains, bigots, and suck down another fried wing.

All polls indicate that the tipping point has been reached. The GOP will keep pandering to its base – Ignorant, poorly educated, cowardly bigots – because pushing a wedge issue distracts the stupid from how hard they get scr3wed by right wing politics.

But when did they start hanging people on their parking lots for being gay … thats the sort of thing the Iranian regime do! … do Chick-Fil-A have plans to develop nuclear weapons? do Chick-Fil-A imprison people who speak out against them?

I think it’s a play on “chicken fillet”. Chicken breasts or fillets/filets, are used to make their sandwiches I believe.

      Post a reply →
    3. It is a terrible name. It’s supposed to be pronounced “fillay” to sound like chick fillet. Americans love childish phonetic or spelling games. Like the Nite Nite Hotel, Kum N Go etc. There is a chain of petrol stations called Amerigas, which I always think sounds stupid. And a clothing store called Kidsexchange.

  7. Any gay employee who works for Chick Fil , should be actively seeking alternative employment.

It’s a fast food ‘restaurant’, so considering how many of these fleapits exist in the US (as evidenced by the fact that such a high percentage of Americans have an arse the size of Texas) they should find alternative employment pretty soon.

And considering how unhealthy Chick Fil A is, then it’s a good thing that bigots are flocking there.

They have REPUTATIONS for being healthy but unless you are hyper diligent about what you are ordering then those places are no better than dumps like McDonalds.

Subway and Martha’s have good PR teams, but these are self-regulating companies so their ‘commitment’ to being healthy is not backed up by changing their menu to only include normal sized portions with strict guidelines about salt, fat and sugar content.

I wonder if Chick-Fil-A’s employee handbook mentions anything about sexual orientation? The fact that some gay employees are speaking out makes me wonder, are they out and if they’re not, could they face being sacked once their orientation is known? The republicans from what I’ve read, fully support a private business owner to sack an LGBT man or woman or not employ them at all if they are perceived to be gay or their orientation becomes known which means they would not support any legislation, currently the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) from ever becoming law under their tenure. They believe the current laws are sufficient and nobody needs added protection. What a backward society. So much for the land of the free, a nation that boasts having more personal freedoms than any other. An utter load of cobblers in my view. Say what you want, as bad as we think we may have it, I’d rather be gay here than in the U.S.A. any day.

It’s their right to do so. Of course, I do not agree with that, nor any of the other bigoted and thoughtless things their owners do. Again, I say, that it is not my place to try and forbid those choices, as they are guaranteed by our constitution.
The only rational (and constitutional) way I can oppose them is to give to groups who support us. And, I do that, as I am able. And I do not patronize those businesses who do give to the other side, and I often let them know why.
There will always be persons or groups who will try to keep us in a 2nd class citizen category. But to try and retaliate in a way which would deny them their own constitutional rights, is to lower ourselves in their very own gutter, and I refuse to be in the gutter with them.

  14. “The South” – America’s ongoing nursery for bigotry.

Even though the American Civil War ended in 1865, the war between the overly conservative southern states and the more liberal northern states STILL wages on. Chick-Fil-A was born and is popular only within “The South”. It wasn’t until just recently that they decided to spread into the northern states, where they were completely unknown. (KFC very popular here.)

In “The South”, a land were they firmly believe God hates fags… blacks… Jews… working women… or just about anything else not white, straight, Christian and overly saturated with testosterone and watered-down beer* as they polish a cellar full of automatic weapons, are so incredibly ignorant that they were surprised the rest of the world didn’t share their narrow-minded views.

Sadly, Chick-Fil-A will probably thrive in the more rural conservative areas of the northern states.

Let’s face it, those organizations Cathy donates to are haters masking themselves as “family value”. Everyone, including gays, have families and have values. What is misleading about these hate hate groups marketing themselves as family oriented Christian is that they focus on inequality, on removing hatecrime laws… who are these people anyways? Well, they are your customers. Those people who walked up to the counter and use the “f” word and spew venoms from their mouths – they are the haters. At least now you can put a face on hate.
