  1. My heart goes out to this woman who experienced such an ordeal. I hope they get the perpetrators & put them away for a very long time! Disgusting behaviour.

  2. A terrible thing to have happened. Full marks and a big thank you to all the people who went to the vigil in support of her. We have friends.

  3. How could this NOT be immediately classed as a hate crime??

And this will continue — expect more of this as long as the religious wrong is allowed to spew their hatred from their pulpits, thereby enraging the uneducated.
Sad — but this is the America I live in.

  5. “Police have not yet classified this as a hate crime.”

I understand the need not to jump to conclusions, but seriously? They carved “dyke” into her skin. What more evidence do they need before they’ll consider it a hate crime?

    1. The police will never consider it a hate crime, and they won’t try very hard to find the animals who did it. They probably think she deserved it.

  6. So the Nebrasken Police have not yet classed this as a Hate Crime!!! So in their eyes what constitutes a Hate Crime???? As long as there are Police forces out there who appear to be failing in their duty to protect LGBT people then these attacks will continue. I am absolutely aghast that this happened and I hope they catch those responsible quickly. Lets all hope they will feel the full force of the law and not just a slap on the wrist!!!!!.

  7. A terrible ordeal for this poor woman. Such hatred is fuelled and justified by churches.

  8. My heart goes out to this poor woman…To suffer at such hands is just awful. And a big thank you to all though who are supporting her with their vigil! Truly wonderful…

As for the Nabraska police….like someone said we know they don’t wish to jump to conclusion, but is having ‘dyke’ cut into her skin and attempting to kill her on her own home not enough for them?

Home of the free and land of the brave…
Wrong on both counts I think.

    1. too true.

  10. Oh dear…..
