Illinois was the first US state to decriminalise homosexuality in 1962 and it was not until the 1970′s that other states started repealing their laws. As one of the liberal northern states, there is no reason why Illinois should continue it’s ban on same-sex marriage and they should disregard the views of the Republican representatives who wish to hold the state back in it’s progress.

I think that the republicans would ban the democrats from getting married as well if they thought it would win votes!
I hope Illinois decides to wake up and get with the times, legalizing same sex marriage. There is no reason that it shouldn’t be legal.
Of course Republicans are in favor of a gay marriage ban. The party belongs to the Christian cult.
