  1. Really no surprise here. They’re so pro-Christian they don’t even open on Sundays.

    1. in this day and age it seems bonkers not to open on a sunday, I am against anti Gay Companies and Fast Food Chains in general anyway.Mainly cause I am also concerned about Animal Welfare.

  2. They aren’t here so I can’t boycott them. Not that I’d probably go there anyway.

    1. Cardinal Capone 18 Jul 2012, 11:40pm

How about KFC, just for the hell of it.

  3. The reason I cannot boycott them is because I don’t eat in skanky trash heaps in the first instance.

  4. Hope there are no LGBT people working there. They can’t really be themselves. They would probably fire them.

  5. Just because the founder of the company was “Christian” doesn’t make chicken sandwiches any more related to gay marriage or for that matter anything at all political or, in their minds, “moral”. I’m surprised, considering this apparent interest in moral issues, that the fact that the company is based upon industrial scale killing of tens upon tens of thousands of chickens and other animals wasn’t an issue higher up on their agenda. Apparently, even taking their warped view of morality, they can’t see the wood for the trees.

  6. Another anti-Christ business. It will close in due course. Anyone eating there is supporting the anti-Christs.

  7. In February, the student government of Northeastern University voted against the company opening an outlet on campus.

Excellent. Lets see how principled they are when they start losing money. They’ll find pro-equality people (gay and straight) far more affluent than the average bible thumper.

    1. Cardinal Capone 18 Jul 2012, 11:51pm

And probably slimmer too, if they avoid these places.

Chick-Fil-A is a fast food chain with an emphasis on Christian values and their slogan is eat-mor-chickin. They have been accused of ‘corporate bullying’ by sending threatening letters to other companies who they think have impinged on their trademarks. This echos a case where rival firm, KFC tried to sue a pub which I visit regularly over the phrase ‘family feast’.
Related to Chick-Fil-A are the Dwarf House and Hapeville Dwarf House Restaurants. They once sacked a Muslim employee who refused to take part in their prayer sessions and petitions have been signed against them opening branches on university campuses. As a bigoted Christian organisation we must let them know that they are not welcome here in the UK or Europe and that I for one will not be eating at Chick-Fil-A should they open a branch in the UK. I’ll stick to KFC or McDonalds.

“I for one will not be eating at Chick-Fil-A should they open a branch in the UK. I’ll stick to KFC or McDonalds.”

-Me too, this way we won’t have to sound like retards pronouncing the word fillet, Fil-A. It doesn’t even sound French, although I think that was the intent quelle surprise they created a bastardized version of two languages.

      1. Filet is indeed French but the Anglicisation, with its double L, goes back to the 14c. F’LAY is one of the many tiresome instances of dopey US hypercorrection.

        1. Cardinal Capone 18 Jul 2012, 11:29pm

It’s done to make fast food sound classy. A waste of effort really.

    2. If they were to open one here I would probably letter ‘bomb’ them with gay porn, or something…

      1. I think the gay porn would be wasted on them to be honest.

        1. “I think the gay porn would be wasted on them to be honest.”

Oh, I don’t know, usually people that homophobic are trying to cover up their own homosexuality. They’d probably condemn it, but keep it for ‘research’ purposes.

        2. Well I’d send them a real letter bomb, but that would get me arrested, so gay porn it will have to be.

    3. not to forget in that list is in-and-out burger – they have christian slogans on their cups etc.

  9. Thank goodness this company is not in the UK!

  10. To be fair a company that tortures animals and sells death causing fast food cant say crap about sh*t.

At least he’s honest about it. So many aren’t.

I wonder what he’ll do when the inevitable marriage equality happens in the US though, shut up shop and relocate to Zimbabwe? Good luck with that!

hilarious chick-fil-a in your face video, couldn’t resist. A humorous way to deal with ignorance

  13. ““We are very much supportive of the family – the biblical definition of the family unit.”

What biblical kind of family will that be then? The incestuous kind? The polygamous kind? The one where a rapist has married his victim?

    1. That There Other David 18 Jul 2012, 11:38am

Don’t forget the one where they get to stone naughty children to death.

      1. Yeah! The good old days when you can eat chicken whilst stonning kids. This Chick-Fil-A guy has no idea!

  14. Laughable – they sell chicken burgers – and they somehow become a voice within the human rights debate – and how can one person speak for a nation of workers? Laughable!

  15. Jock S. Trap 18 Jul 2012, 11:36am

Newflash to Chick-A-Fil… LGBTQI people have/Are Families/Family too!!

Shameful excuse of a company and clearly one to avoid.

  16. The tipping point as been reached and the worst of the bigots, those who will never change their ways are a dying breed…

…I am happy enough for them decide to suck down some more of that greasy stinking fried food and hurry up.

  17. the lgbt community are not 1 million moms, do we really need to resort to their boycotting tactics? I say, eat where you like, just dont leave a tip :)

    1. eat where you like, just dont leave a tip

That way you penalise the poor sods who work there rather than the company itself. Is that really the best way to do it?

  18. the biblical definition of the family unit … we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.

Without wanting to go into what the bible has to do with flogging cheap fowl to the masses (not to mention mispronouncing fillet), I’d dearly love to know which Bible precedent this fool follows: the marriage(s) of the patriarch Jacob, perhaps?

In passing I can’t help but think he lacks confidence in his own marriage, if he has to thank God for keeping it going.

    1. Cardinal Capone 18 Jul 2012, 11:24pm

“we are married to our first wives”…I didn’t realise the Bible approved of group marriages.

  19. It’s always religion… and only religion. Nobody with rational thinking is opposed to marriage equality

Just one hour ago I noticed one being built in my town (Chicago burbs – Republican territory). Thankfully, in Illinois it is illegal to discriminate in employment based on sexuality. Yes, there are suburban and rural Gays, unfortunately often treated as a UFO sighting (ruralgaylife.com).

Oh, and screw Chick-Fil-A. I need to open a competing store next to them where Gay men can pick up their chicken and take him home.

    1. PMSL!!!! I was resisting saying the chicken connection, but you have done it!! :-)

  21. What a joke! The biblical definition of families includes incest, polygamy and raping your slaves.

  22. I’m glad I found this out, I’m going to the USA soon and can keep well away.

    1. Cardinal Capone 18 Jul 2012, 11:47pm

You’d never be able to get past the obese families blocking the door.

  23. I when into a CHICK-A-FIL in Allentown, Pa. I looked at their menu. It was so filled with junk food. I ran out and would never returns. So called Christians that don’t care about what junk food does to the body. ” Sell them sh t we don’t care” is their motto. What a sad outfit this company is.

  24. Have One Million Moms(You can insert your own bigotry riddled group) came out and told this company off for failing to maintain a neutral view in this debate. No? How odd

  25. They donate millions of dollars to anti gay organisations yet they say they have “no agenda”. If that’s not ‘an agenda’, could somebody please explain what is?
They should consider opening a branch or two in the Cameroonian capital Yaounde. With their ‘National Anti Gay Day’ coming up, Chick-Fil-A will feel really welcome.

  26. Cardinal Capone 18 Jul 2012, 11:18pm

“Biblical definition of the family unit”??

I wonder which one he’s referring to. There seems to be more than one.

    1. would that be the numerous references to multiple wives (add a few concubines for good measure), not marrying “foreigners”, marrying sisters (but make sure you marry the older one first!) – no don’t marry the sister until your wife has died (?), not “giving” your younger daughters in marriage before you “give” your older daughters, wives being given to others as punishment, only marry a virgin (not a widow but younger widows should still try and snare a husband), marry your widowed sister in laws (another one for the harem), marry the woman you raped, marry the woman you capture in battle, if you have sex with another man’s wife – both of you get the death penalty….

  27. David Myers 19 Jul 2012, 8:54am

How about pickiting those outlets while urging a boycott? Sure they’d continue to get their bigoted customers, but other who didn’t realize who they were patronizing might respond by going elsewhere. Don’t have any here in Canada, to my knowledge so I can’t practice what I preach. I like Church’s Chicken anyway.

  28. Vivisectus 28 Jul 2012, 1:34pm

Oh my – their CEO keeled over from a heart attack. Right in the middle of the controversy too. I wonder why the religious nutters aren’t calling it a sign from God?
