I saw her give a talk a few years ago at a Stonewall thing at the royal courts of justice and it was one of the most inspirational talks I’ve ever seen. She’s going to go far.
What does Lesbian music sound like, is it different to homosexual or heterosexual music? Why is he being commended for being a lesbian music teacher and not just a music teacher ?
“he” ? do you not understand what gender the word lesbian describes?
And obviously, as someone being recognised for their work promoting understanding of gay issues, this is what is being clelebrated here, not the fact that she is a music teacher. duh!
That’s exactly what I thought when I saw her talk. What she was saying was pretty sensible simple stuff but it was totally revolutionary to me who went to school in the 80s and 90s!

Go Elly!!
Shame she didn’t win, but then I don’t know who she was up against. Many congratulations to Ms Barnes all the same.

Do you think the phrase ‘Italian music teacher’ describes someone who teaches only Italian music? Bless.
So Italian music is lesbian music then?
I think you need to go to school.
congratulations.
If only there had been such enlightened teachers when I was in high school. It would have made a huge difference to my teenage years.

Lots of love,
Neil, Debbie and all your friends at Gaydar Radio xx
Well done, Elly. Also good to have some publicity for Schools Out. Here is a link to Elly speaking at the Pre launch LGBT History Month event last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjS9PdNeIeg&list=UUq_51dvpPrRIkXMRKqhx0_A&index=9&feature=plcp
A small point but important -the event at the Royal Courts of Justice was the Pre Launch of LGBT History Month which was instigated by Schools OUT
