CONGRATULATIONS to you Mr. Frank! You’ve done the gay community proud, and it’s a kick in the teeth for all of those Bush-ite hypocrites still walking the corridors of power in Washington.

  2. Republicans are to be ignored and derided! Like who cares about bigots, homophobes, people who ignore the poor, the needy, the sick, the frail etc etc.etc and who make out that they are socalled upright outstanding Christian citizens! Romney is an abomination and if anything is the Anti-Christ, it is the Republican Party of the USA!

Well it still prove, republicans have no basic manners. Congratulations, congressman Frank and all the very best for you and your husband!

  4. Doesn’t he see being ignored is the equivalent of a negative comment? If he’d married a woman the same people would be congratulating him. It baffles me that so many gay men make excuses for their oppressors.

  6. Congratulations to Congressman Frank and his husband.

    1. He is the first married gay man in a same-sex marriage to serve with these Republican congressmen…. I doubt that he is the first married gay man to serve in congress. Republicans like to forget Larry Craig.
    2. Rep Frank should press the issue of spousal benefits including survivor benefits…. Currently DOMA stops them from realizing full equality to Rep Franks’ peers.

Again, as a gay man married to another gay man, I think it is great to see this happen at all levels.

  7. Congratulations Mr Frank.

The two things that strike me about this are:
    a) the integrity of Mr Frank in being honest about himself and setting an example
    b) that even those Republicans who congratulated him did so privately (why not in public?)
