  1. The GOP fracturing and ripping itself to pieces can only benefit humanity.

Whatever the pre-Reagan GOP might once have been, it is no longer. The political stump is based upon divisiveness and whipping up the mob. This will just cause a further schism.

They have played a very dangerous game for far too long and it is time for the party to die and be re-born (because every government needs a viable opposition – just not one mired in ideology that would vote “no” on a bill containing a cure for cancer just because the other side came up with it).

      Are you an American?

  2. Technically, the District of Columbia is not a state, nor is it part of any state. The Republican Party repeatedly derails any attempt DC makes to become a state, because it would add an additional senate seat, and DC has been solidly Democratic for decades at least. The Republican Party opposes DC having the same rights as states, as that would be one more Senate seat that will certainly not be Republican. Valksy is right – it has become a party principally known for its extremism and obstructionism.

  3. The GOP has become a festering, weeping-boil-laden, pustulated, gangrenous, self-phagic, microphallic, scabrous cancer.
Ooh, gotta run – time for dinner.

You can bet that the Washington, DC group will not have a place on the platform at the national republican convention, nor will it be acknowledged or given five minutes to address those in attendance. I wouldn’t put too much importance in any of this.

Any positive move must be applauded and hopefully the Repuplican Party in the more liberal seaboard states will soon become more inclusive with the rest eventually following suit. We must not forget that the Conservative Party was once as LGBT friendly as the GOP at one time.
