Even though so many people are saying it’s not news because everyone already knew he was gay I love when an alleged gay celebrity comes out publicly and the words “I am gay” come out of the person’s own mouth and not from the other people’s mouth.

I find the references to Gaad more than a little creepy too, unnecessary at the very least – especially when it’s presumably the same Gaad that did not make it easy, until our own generation, for people to love to love others of the same sex.
I’ve said it before on here that it seems more than a little unsuitable to be thanking ‘God’ in relation to news like this or similar. The God squad ain’t so enthusiastic when they hear this news and quote endlessly from the bible the same old piece of shyte they always use as ammo against the LGBT community.
I think you are overreacting. I think Americans with quite vague religious beliefs (ie not dogmatic intolerant ones) come out with a lot of religiosity which (for example) similar Brits would not. I think it’s just a cultural difference. Some years ago a friend of mine came back from the US saying that she met lots of Americans who were uninhibitedly ‘pious’ and godly in their outlook who seemed to have no beef with different religions and lifestyles.

Anderson Cooper is an excellent role model, and I love the way he laughs.
Anderson Cooper is an amazing person with his own unique style of doing things. As the son of Gloria Vanderbilt he sidestepped the notoriety of his family name to be a journalist by going to war zones to work free lance.
His level headed style helped him stay safe in many homophobic regions, where as he said he told the news about others as a reporter. His own story has been very much understated. Some may accuse him of being secretive which is hardly the case.
My favorite memory of Anderson Cooper is watching Will and Grace… Will said he was going to sit down with a fine wine? and share special time with Anderson Cooper… to which I think Grace replied “you and every other gay American!”… he was hot then and he’s hot now!
One of the most genuine and believable reporters who is dedicated to truth and reality in his work! Way to go Anderson!
