I’d be elated about this if only it weren’t going all so horribly wrong in Eastern Europe. It’s as if the old men in dresses (i.e. god’s folk) are punishing LGBT people there because they’ve lost over here.

Maybe it’s time we did actually march on the Vatican and occupy the place :-D

Count me in! I am just going to check out Ryanair.Com for flights to Rome. We’ve heard of One Million Mums, lets have One Million Gays. All roads lead to Rome!

I personally hope that the Games could mark a turning point in Hungarian attitudes towards gays. Fidez (The Hungarian Conservatives) were out of order to rip up the old Constitution and replace it with one that suited them. A constitution is designed to protect the population of a country from the worst excesses of an elected government. The US Constitution has only been amended 27 times although 10,000 proposals to amend it has been lodged. Unlike the US Constitution the Hungarian Constitution is not worth the paper it is written on if it can be ripped up and replaced with every change of government.
Hungary seems to be following a familiar pattern with LGBT issues: Two steps forward and one step back. Section 28 was our backwards step. I hope that the Budapest Games pass off without incident and that Hungarians will learn a lesson in tolerance and one day they will be ready to follow London in hosting the Greatest Show on Earth.
