excellent news, I still don’t quite understand why the LGBT community ignores the plight of those likely to hit in this most severe way. There ought to be a charity for all LGBT people not just youth, but it is scandalous 40%, given the wealth in other areas.

Bit of a sweeping statement. I’m in favour of what Cindi Lauper is doing and good luck to her.
If you really have to guilt trip someone about this why aren’t you guilt tripping the parents who turfed these LGBT youths out in the first place?

        1. It’s not a guilt trip its me saying we should look after the vulnerable make as much noise about homelesness as we do about marriage

I expect things are going to get worse in the UK, with the plans to further increase the age at which benefits are claimable.

I remember this happening in the Thatcher years, when they abolished benefits for the young and very suddenly the pavements of London were covered in young homeless people.

  4. Cyndi, you amaze me… *bursts into song*

“And I’ll see your true colors
    Shining through
    I see your true colors
And that’s why I love you
So don’t be afraid to let them show
    Your true colors
    True colors are beautiful,
    Like a rainbow”

Cyndi is a great voice for the gblt community .. and yes we do seem to be spending alot of energy on the right to marry ..but I do believe that there are members of the community we are working just as tireless on other issues
I am a 65 year old gay man .. and to throw another log on the fire .. why dont we hear about the needs of older gblt community . the article was about what good news this is and how Cyndi is doing her part to help . why must we always turn these discussions into you said I said . and I am right and you are wrong .. maybe we need a forum to discuss what is wrong with the our world and how we can fix it . one way is to today get up and find a organization that helps members of the gblt community .. or if you are out and about where the gblt community meet .. seek out a older gblt person and say hello .. or call and be a mentor to someone . call your local aids agency and see if the need a volunteer .. lordy the list goes on and on and on
